Angry Replacing Brake Pads fit problem ?

Man I am on a role of confusion with this car.

I have replaced many brake pads and this tops the list as the worst !

I have a 1990 944 S2 (without club sport) I bought the:

OEM Front Brake Pad Set, 944S2 1989-91, Without Club Sport Option, 944 Turbo 1986-88, Without Club Sport Option, 968 1991-95, Without Club Sport Option, Each
Brand: Mintex

And they will not fit this the slots between the medal hinges on the top and bottom...in addition I test fitted the caliper on the

Front Brake Rotor, 2 Per Car, 944 Turbo Without M758 Package 1987-89, 944S21989-91, 968 1992-95, Without Club Sport Option, Each
Brand: Zimmermann

And those little medal brakets on the bottom hit the rotors ??? Even with no pads installed...I am beginning to think I will need to file down the vibration damper on the back of the pad ??? I can't think of any other solution to get the pads installed ?

Thanks,

Makes no sense really, the old brake pads look almost the same. I think this happens when the brakes have not been maintaned correctly.
