Removing cams big problem

I could only take 7 screws off from the cams, and the rest are striped,i did use the right tools the bolts r just too old and wont come out..i tryed drilling on two of them and using the extraction bit,it broke in there and i cant get it out nor can i drill again because its too hard... whats are my options,if i have to cut those cam holders in halfe then god damn it i will...and just get some used ones

We're talking the cam tower? If so, which bolts? The ones on the outside above the exhaust headders or the ones inside the tower?

If it's outside ones, they're relatively easy - you can weld a nut on the head of the bolt, or you can cut a slot in the bolt and take it off like a flat-head screw.

I saw a guy take one off that way - using a small dentist-style air powered drill with a grinder bit, he cut a slot in the top of the bolt, then used a crow-bar (the flat end) as a screwdriver and broke it loose.

I've also heard of guys pounding a cheap 12-point socket (slightly small) onto the bolt (so it jams on), then taking it off that way.

The bolts inside the cam tower are more problematic. I really am not sure what you could do there - without destroying anything. Pounding a socket on might work.

Make sure you "wake-up" any of those bolts before you attemt to break them loose. The steel bolt threads tend to bond with the aluminum after sitting for years.

Worth mentioning, he has an S, so there is no cam tower since it is 16V

Took us 2 pages to sort that out in his other thread. Apparently he feels the need to start from scratch every time he encounters a new issue and not provide any real information.
