I probably would; at least I could see when something THAT large is coming after me as apposed to being taken by surprise by a tiny poisonous spider that can do major or life threatening damages :P

^^ Worst case scenario will be you, working under the car on jack stands, & that bear just flip the darn thing over to get at your tasty flesh. And while doing so dislodge a nest of hobo spiders witch will come crawling down your sweater neckline, while the bear is chewing on your legs have a good nigth sleep & happy dreams.

Speakin of bears, I almost hit one on my way to Thompson Manitoba(the Great White North) on the 17th. It was only a 500 lb or so Black bear but it wouldn't get out of my lane and I got worried cause its only a 2 lane highway. Ran into some fishermen from Minnesota up there hookin the big Walleyes. It was 0 degrees Wednesday morning... Holy crap!!

Bear meat tastes bad though thats why you don't see them in grocery stores.

If it was "only 500 or so" it wasn't a black bear. 500 is the very high end of normal. Most of the ones dumb enough to walk in the road around here are 250-300 lbs. The largest ever recorded was 880 lbs a few miles from my house...so maybe the big ones just hide better.

I personally invite you to my wild kingdom of bears in Northern Manitoba and I can assure you that a Black that size is not uncommon here. The COs (Conservation Officers) in the southern region have trapped some Blacks and Cinnamons even larger than that 80 miles from the city. I agree that they taste horrible but they make a great rug, lol...
