It is called "Cheesehead" or more commonly "12 point internal".

Pep Boys carries them in stock. Checker's/Oreilly's doesn't, not sure about AZ.

Autozone does have them, but nobody there will probably know what you're talking about. In the tools section they have a separate 4' section that's called "OEM Tools" or something like that. They're all in red and black boxes. In there, they have a pack of 4 cheeseheads, all the sizes you'll need.

They are also called triple square. Available at every good tool place around.

Spend a little more from Snap on or Mac tools. It's worth it for these especially.

Us 924/944ers can't afford Snap-on tools! THey have triple square tools under the Performance brand at Oreilly's. An affordable $5.45 pack, now pass the beer nuts!

Shops that sell VW parts usually have them. I think I've seen them at Sears, also.

I don't think we stock them anymore. And our tools are okay, but for this type of thing, I wouldn't buy them unless you're only using them now and then.

Keep your receipts, anyways, because most of the tools are lifetime warrantied.

http://www.zdmak.com/wbstore/main.asp?action=PROD&PROD=JT-XZN1008PC&CTMP=1 Got them through my work, Advance Auto Parts, and they are good quality, strong, and not the cheap ones you have to put in a socket.

ZDMAK also has alot of Porsche specialty tools.

go back to autozone, or pep boys, or napa, THE CORRECT TERM FOR THIS BIT IN THE INDUSTRY IS CALLED TRIPLE SQUARE, not cheeshead or 12 pt internal torx, so what is it?
