Temp. Readings - Comments?

I took my 85.5 a bit further yesterday...enough to get things really warmed up (car seems very well behaved), and also borrowed a laser temp. gun, and from this got the following results:

Top of Hood (over exhaust location): 144 f.
Valve Cover: 186 to 202 f.
Max Temps. for Headers: 600 to 650 f.
Underside of fuel line over headers: appx. 150 f.
Exhaust just before Cat: 250f.
Cat: 360f. towards front, 260f. towards back
Just after Cat: 160 f.
Rear Muffler: 260 near front, 200 near rear.

I'd welcome comments on the above. Thanks!

Only one of those temps is mildly relevant. . .the cam box, which seems fine to me.

What I should have said. Interesting reading though. Wonder what the turbine housing on our 31s. would read after a good run. Lol

Temp. guage just a little above the first (80 C) hatch mark most of the time...and when sitting at idle for a couple of minutes it goes up to just about the exact middle of the scale - maybe a little above this but so far not to the second (100 C) hatch mark.

Sometimes I think that the thermostat may not be fully seating on its lower gasket - but basically the car seems fine.

On the online forum someone remarked that my header temps. sounded just a bit high, indicating a lean running condition...so I may check into this.

I don't think so and it should be a touch leaner at idle. Imho
