Porsche Crest Lesson Learned

Hi.. For two years I have had an intermittent problem with my power windows. One side would stop working then work and then the same would happen to the opposite side. I looked for grounding problems, fuse problems, corrosion problems.. Nothing worked. I asked questions here... and cleaned the grounds again, short of taking out the dash..Then a week ago, the horn relay blew and I replaced it without a second thought.....
Then I thought again ,,. "Is there a relay on the windows??" Had to go looking for it and ask a few questions more.. Stuck in the new relay today and POOF,, THE WINDOWS WORK FINE!!!! So the moral of this story is, before you do anything with the electrical, see if the relay works first!! It is cheap in most cases and saves a lot of time..

Glad you managed to fix it.
Intermittent electrical faults are currently driving me insane, but it turned out my window was jammed due to a the "velvet" trim around the edge of the windows becoming stuck.

I will, however, be doing a big old relay check over soon to make sure that they aren't the cause of some of my other faults

Cool just did the same repair a day or so ago,the windows are faster going up.
Took the relay from my 89 parts car and swapped over cover to keep the retaining clip, now for the other issues

This is a great lesson. My father used to tell me all the time to work simple to complex. He always said complex problems are nothing more than several simple problems strung together in random ways. Of course it took me years and countless dollars to learn this lesson.

Good work.

Thats great love that saying ,so very true, struck an old V8 merc on early D-Jectronic the garage it had been to said it had all sorts of cold start problems, stuff like "its in the electronics" had the injectors serviced and it was humming.
Start off simple for sure.
