Today I set out to solve my fuse #4 popping issue. I started out by dismantling the doors:

Then I removed the window regulator/motor assemblies:

While removing the passenger side window regulator I stumbled upon what is most likely the cause of my issue:

While removing the drivers side window regulator I discovered that the window was not in its track and the foam liners for the tracks had fallen out. Luckily they were in the bottom of the door. The little plastic wheels for the regulators were completely eroded too so I ordered two sets from Rennbay. The regulators were also quite stiff (tested with the motors removed) so I disassembled, cleaned, and greased them up. Now they're smooth as butter. My windows should work awesomely once it's all back together

Spent the last four hours trying and failing to re-install my newly re-covered dashboard. Getting very frustrated...
It came out really easily. The refitting process is not going well. It just won't fit in the hole it came out of!

Front brake pad, hardware and wear sensor replacement - Check
Oil/filter change - Check

Waiting on new brake bleeders to arrive as the original ones are toast...

Thats a pain.

have you checked your earth points? they would be good to tidy up while you're behind there.

Oh yes! The electrics in the car have been messed with, and not in a good way. Having the dash out has helped but a few things are still dead!

At least today I managed to get the dash in. Now it is the simple?? matter of reconnecting things, trying to tie a multitude of loose wires and relays up and out of the way, find a decant home for the smaller fuse box (currently floating around in the footwell) and then we will see if the damn thing will go. It had better, it is supposed to be going to Dunedin on Friday.

Finished polishing the car. Waiting for sealant to arrive hopefully in the next week. It really shows the difference between detailed India Red and non-detailed Guards Red.

Car looks good! Nice rims, too.

What are you shooting? Have camped there in the past. Nice. Saw a huge Lynx cross the road just as we left.

Thanks. I travel through there on business periodically (Wawa to the Soo) and the drive through the park may be one of the best in Canada. I've shot a number of car experience videos as a personal project and am putting things together for a demo reel.

aint no body doing nothin these days?

finally finished applying a carbon fiber wrap to my sunroof, hood, headlights, and the LR header panel.

got the cheap stuff, $40 for a 5' X 10' roll.

good enough for this car for now. may get something better and redo, as the part I applied to the hood had what looked like some mfg flaws. and based on this learning effort, probably could do a better job next time.

and after driving over 2 hrs each way to a couple DEs without tunes, got this speaker to plug in my ipod. at the track, can just remove and save a couple pounds.

project car came without a radio. heading to MidOhio next weekend for last DE of the season.

Replaced my CV Axle. Two bolts snapped and the rest came loose as I made a turn through an intersection.

Drove my 951 on a fast and dangerous track (with concrete walls) on local PC season ending event. There were only two 944's. Mostly 911s (997 and 991), couple of Caymans, Boxters one Panamera and even Cayenne Turbo.

My best time was 1:45. 911 GT3 (997) with Michelin pilot sport semi slicks managed to go 1:34. Most 911s did the lap in around 1:40. Was surprised that Panamera S and Cayenne Turbo managed to do the lap around second faster than me Although there were 4 long/fast straights where you would have 100 - 110 mph before the corner (all fast third gear corners) you could benefit from a lot of power.

One Cayman GTS was quite hardly crashed (the driver missed the turn - was for the first time on the track).

Drove more than 20 laps (around 50 miles) and had a lot of fun.

New control arms, ball joints, bushings and mounting hardware installed. A trip to the alignment shop finished the job...

Took a look at the sunroof (again and for the upteenth time). Someone ( a couple months ago) had suggested that I move the two limit switches further back on the rail so I finally decided to try and... It worked!!! The panel now lifts up and down but still not flush with the body. I'll have to adjust the arms down a few mm which may pull the panel down a bit more. Once that's completed, I still have to figure out why the arms still don't retract.

One thing at a time I guess...
