media is just another word for abrasive that is used for blasting .
media covers every type of blasting grit so you have to pick the right media for what you are blasting and what is needed to remove the finish .

just in a plastic media there are 3 deferent type

acrylic offered in ten deferent mesh sizes

melamine offered in 12 deferent mesh sizes

urea offered in ten deferent mesh sizes

then if you want you can even get them in custom sizes .
and that is just in plastic media .

if you don't want to blast the outter lip of the wheel you mask it off . we use 16 mill plastic to mask off the outter part of fuch wheels .

Yep, PowderTech-Plus grew out of HC Motorsports, a customer who owned & raced an HSR 356 they maintained, had them send the tin out to Cali to have powder coated (as there were only a few places in FL at the time, and they only did large poles for a lighting company, or something like that. When the tin came back from the reputable powder coater in Cali, it was warped all to hell and unusable, but shiny. That is the seed that started PowderTech, and after a few years, what started as just a set up to do engine tin, susp & stuff started growing and taking more time & making more money than the cars, with less headache

To me Fuchs look always best with the silver rim. It ruins the effect of the wheel to paint the wheels all black.

Yes it is a different look but you can get that same look with lots of other wheels and they will look better in the all black than the fuchs.

You could try different center colors on the fuchs. That still looks good. Red centers, green center etc. Just the lips of the wheel should stay silver.

some years ago i owned a 911 rs i liked the light gray of the centers on thoughs wheels .
as for not doing the hole rim all one color yes the outter edge needs to be left .
i do have a old set of fuch's i use for my rain tires that some one painted all one color (027 red ) . they are butt ugly !
but every one has there own taste

I think I'm going to give re-finishing and polishing my Fuchs a second try. I think the end result might look classier than powdercoating and it'll save $$. Labor intensive though, lol. Refinishing Fuchs for Dummies

That's how far I got with a little while with a polishing cone and some compound, I think it's time to get something heavier.

Why is the metal "pitted" like that? It's completely uniform on the inner portion that isn't the lip or the spokes

No I just cleaned thoroughly with car wash soap plus purple power because each wheel has some CAKED on super dirt. Then I used aluminum polish on a mother's cone thing on a cordless drill. For what felt like an hour lol. The other wheels look worse

When you say inside spokes
You mean back side?

Have to drag my power washer out to the shop

I can say they sure are light

Lol it's no brainer just check the marking (like mention) on the inside.

That doesn't look like a real Fuchs, some of the fakes are cast and have that finish.

The ones that are being polished, the rough finish in the paddle isn't something real Fuchs have.
The only way to be sure is to check the inside of the paddles for a 911 part #.

I'm almost certain I have seen the part number. I'll snap a picture next time they're off.
