apparently the saudi-arabia-spec 944s had a euro-style bumper but it was made from aluminum. i've only ever seen 2 such cars in the US and both owners said the same thing.

The tubular 85 - 86 headers will crack. Replaced on my 85.5 with a cast header as cost of newer header was exorbitant. I occasionally wonder if the flow and heat transfer characteristics of the tubular is any better than cast, but the car is a beater (automatic dd) anyway. (tubular sounded better)

For posterity..
A complete rear hatch (all glass, with frame and rubber wing and hinges) is 52 lbs. ...not 80 as is claimed on the "lighter parts" company's website. A bare early dashboard weighs less than 7 lbs. |

yup - gotta be wary about that stuff. it's like one company that lists a carbon fiber hood for the 968. sure, it's got carbon fiber, but it's lain over fiberglass. gotta look deeper into some of that stuff.
