O2 sensor plug?

Hi All,

I can't seem to find where my O2 sensor is supposed to plug in inside the car. It's an 82 Euro. Also, since this car has mechanical fuel injection, what affect does the O2 sensor have on engine tuning? Ignition timing?

You actually have an O2 Sensor in front of your Cat?

Well, the story goes...When I bought the car, there was an old O2 sensor there but the wire had been cut clean at the sensor. I figured that would cause problems when I bring it to the smog shop in California. I had an extra O2 sensor laying around, so I went ahead and installed it and ran the wires through the grommet to the inside.
Maybe the Euro with CIS never used an O2 sensor? I'm at least using it along with a volt meter for tuning

When Euro's were federalized some kind of hokey control box for the O2 would have been added. If its gone, hurrah, and hopefully mixing the disconnected end of the O2 sensor wires into some misc wires will be enough to make the smog guys happy if its tuned close enough.

Exactly what Mike said. Not all Euros Federalized (like mine) came with a Cat with an O2. Some did, some didn't. Are you in California?
