Twin Turbo Upgrades
I've been very busy this summer making some mods to the twin turbo system...more like finishing touches to it. My engine bay now looks pretty freshened up with the newly powder coated intake and plumbing. While I had the intake off, I fabricated an in-block air/oil seperation system and also installed the 2 other breather ports into the valve cover on the driver's side. I introduce purge air in on either side of the engine through the non-cupped breather port, then vent the air through the center port and as well the two additional valve cover ports. Then out to the Provent, so there are two air/oil seperators in the system. Thyanks to Louie Ott for the advice on the crankcase breathing methods.
The air snouts went through a mounting upgrade and now use a different fastening method to keep them fully secured down with zero movement. It took some time, but they turned out very nicely. I also added a serial number tag to the system and stamped mine as S-001. Serial numbers S-002 and S-003 are in production right now. I'll be putting some videos up on youtube that cover an entire 928S4 twin turbo conversion...start to finish. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

The car for Serial No. 2 should be here next month sometime. This will allow me to make certain all documentation is done for the system. It will be good for me to see it all fit in to make certain everything is just right and falls into place as planned.
The work is never done...it's part of being an Engineer at heart. There is always something which can be improved upon.

A few people have mounted the air intakes on other projects. I think I've sold 3 or 4 sets this way. For me it was a necessity based on the spacial constraints of the 928's engine bay. I'm not sure there is really any benefit for a NA car though...but I can't prove it either way.

As long as people keep buying stuff I can keep it up. The ultimate dream is to be able to play at this for a full time job which can provide an income.

Marketing is everything John. There is a Porsche badge on the hood, the looks are timeless, and you are delivering GT2 performance for less than half the price.
And then there is the 928 sound track thrown in... All I can say is that you need to take it to all the shows, including the PCA stuff, and show off your work. You might even try advertising on the corvette and Viper boards, since these are typically populated with wealthy people who are not averse at all to trying a Porsche that has the V8 sound track and serious performance. Building two systems right now. I've had to turn away 3 guys from the UK, and one from Cypress due to having right hand drive cars...such a shame, but the system does not fit RHD. Been doing some shows locally here this year. Had the car at Oxford last weekend for P20. Always draws a nice crowd and people really like the car. With two more systems going together there will be more exposure, and we'll see how it goes from there. Once people ride in and/or drive the cars the word can then spread. Just put it back on the road last week and I'm always amazed when I drop the hammer, the car is really a weapon on the street. I'm still amazed at how much power this thing makes, specifically with the odometer closing in on 200,000 miles. I mean try that in many other makes and you will be holding a pile of scrap metal in short order. It's just nuts how well engineered the stock engine is in the 928 S4. The big, thick ring lands, close tolerance on the bores, minimal overlap cams, etc. It all works really, really well with the turbos The Chevy power guys can dismiss the 928's Reynolds 390 engine all they want...fact is when it is cared for it will go many, many miles and perform well doing so.
