just crashed my s4, now wont start?

hi all, bad snow here in dublin and i have just slid my 928 s4 into a curb, it hit hard and i have not been able to start it, it cut out just as i hit. the fuel pump is not knicking in so i check the fuse, which was blown! so new fuse but no joy, so i check the relay and replaced it with one thats working fine but still no pump. i have not yet checked for power at fuse/relay or pump yet but is there a cut off or something in the s4 for killing the pump in a crash, any ideas why the fuse would have blown? cheers thomas

Wow, sorry to hear that. Glad you walked away from this. Somebody with S4 knowledge will steer you in the right direction.

Sorry about the crash. I am new to the 928S but on some of my American cars, there is an automatic shut off switch on the fuel pump to prevent it from pumping in a crash. It may just need to be reset if it has one.

Personally, I will not drive my 928S in winter, let alone in snow and ice. I have it in my heated garage until Spring. This is 4x4 weather here now in Michigan! Good luck with the car.

check the battery connections( battery may not have a hold down).
the starter connections, (Make sure the starter wires are not hitting the pan or sway bar)
Inspect the hot post. and wires for broken insulation
Remove the fuel pump cover and inspect the wires for a grounding issue (blown fuse)
