replace power seat switch

Hello everyone:

I am getting ready to replace a bad power seat switch on the passenger seat.

Any tips or things I need to look out for or be aware of as far as the removal of the seat

Disconnecting the main power cable to the seat, etc.

Any help is most appreciated

Thanks

provenceman

What year, type of seat? Usually, You do not need to remove the seat, unscrew the panel and pull it free, pull the plug on the back of the switch, remove the switch.

...what Neil said and if you got hands like a Jeweler, you can open it up and clean the contacts. Beware of the tiny itty bitty springs that attack you and leave the scene only to never be seen of again

This is why you remove the seat and place it on a blanket and fix the switch ^^^^^^^

Stan, that's why I asked what year, seat type. If it's the early rocker switch, what I said applies, if it's the 4 way multi function, I agree with you.

Nope, even a nice white sheet isn't going to stop a flinging spring. I would suggest you open the switch "inside" a 1 gallon zip-lock bag.
