Guys; I think he wants to bypass so he can get the car started, and fix the major problems first.

Im sure its temporary.

Any parts store is going to have a remote starter that works ok for testing, but that is as far as that should go, limited testing.

Getting a 928 to run is the WRONG goal, it should be getting it to run WELL, and that comes from fixing it right, not a series of bandaids.

its hard to bypass the green wire with any kind of reliability other than putting in a new wire.

This wire doesnt have a substitute and it may be causing all of the running issues he is experiencing.

The green wire not being sound is a major problem, as it will make you chase your tail fixing other things that might not be broken, like swapping out coils and resistors and ignition wires and fuel pumps and fuel regulators and, and, and you get the idea

i switched out the green wire for a wire that is in much better shape it looks pretty new actually. it still has that bright green color and the connections are pretty strong. the ignition switch is stil working on and off it worked for me yesterday. and i also need to say that i have only replaced parts that i know are in bad shape the resistors were too high resistance values. the pump was dead, the fuel regulator and fuel distributor were bad, one of the posts on the coil broke off. so they all needed replacing and up until the resistors i could find all these parts off of other cars for great prices. also after i changed the wire out we looked at the spark again and found that its strong initially then dies down to a weak spark again the battery is good so thats not the problem the wires are good coils strong i dont know what else to check

After a long chase, several parts, ignition switch is what fixed my 91 Mustang. I think all the vendors kept using the same old switch designs and during the 80's everybody started using MUCH more powerful CD ignition systems, and the switches fried eventually.

on starting the the starting circuit switches from one resistor to two when cranking stops,
if you touched the starter then you may have the wires on the wrong way.
Also the ignition switch may be the cause of the dropping voltage replace it
