Not using an Oxygen sensor

87 S4 auto...
Hey all,,Well after starting a tranny filter change, WYAI bit me..so..after transmission springs new hoses/lines, exhaust hangers, cleaned painted exhaust, and undercarriage, new vac lines and modulator, and a cat bypass...on the road with a great sound...and no leaks!!!

But the bypass doesn't have a usable port for the O2 sensor..It has a dummy outlet..as it turned out my old sensors wasnt hooked up to start with.

So, what is the disadvantage of no sensor?

Also, the power seems to be less at lower rpm..seems a bit dogged....

thnx as always...

without the sensor you are probably using a lot more fuel than you need too.

Fuel mix will not be right. I would find a place to add the O2. On my X-pipe there is an O2 tap on just one side....which is probably just fine.

You can buy a bung all over ebay and have it installed at a competent muffler shop. Or if your good at welding, drill the hole yourself and weld the bung in.
