So a friend of mine needs a rebuild or swap. Any recommendations in socal?

Nobody needs a rebuild in the conventional sense, cranks, rods, pistons, and block rarely need anything even at high mileage, what part did your friend break?

Does he want to stick with the original 4.5L?

What sort of budget or time frame?

OTOH I know someone with a rebuilt never run 4.5L motor after he sold his 928 and the buyer didn't want a spare. PM me if that sounds like something your friend would like, and I will reply with the guys contact info.

4.5? I recall he said it was a 4.7L. I will verify. I did not think much of it but I told I would ask you 928 Fellas

Let me see exactly what is wrngn with his engine and try to determine if it is in fact blown or just in need of gaskets and seals.

Also, keep in mind, pics will help us determine if it's a US or Euro. If it's a Euro, it very well could be a 4.7 S.

The way to positively tell is by the engine code.
