Question 993 odometer not working

i got problem w/ my 993 C2 TiptronicS odometer.
The speedometer is working fine, but the odometer isn't working at all. Is anyone know how to find the problem? The sender or the gear of the odometer ?

If you've ever reset the odometer while the car was in motion, that's supposed to be a bad thing and can strip the gear in there. Actually, that may only affect the trip meter. You probably have an electrical problem there.

i never reset the odometer and the speedometer is still in original condition, never open. The trip on the onboard computer (tachometer) is working properly.

Maybe this might help. Good pictures and link for parts to repair.

Anyone know how close the inside of the 964 and 993 speedometers are in comparison to 911's?

Thumbs down 964 odometer <60,000 miles

This is a HOT issue for me....1991 964 odometer not working. Today I filed a complaint because I'm hoping for a recall. The info I have is from "101 projects for your 911", which I've seen cited on here previously. ".......almost guaranteed to fail......perhaps most predictable failure.......2 design flaws....plastic gears and pot metal gear pressed on the shaft of the odometer." Choices to correct the problem are
1obtaining spare used gauge(s) and trying to fix it yourself which you'd almost have to be a certified mechanic ($100)
2Take it to a dealer so they can send the part out to have it fixed($350)
3 and my personal favorite, Replace the whole speedometer yourself ($150) unless you have a tiptronic transmission ($325), (no longer my personal favorite)
