Has anyone tried running only cat + straight pipes ? Is it totally too loud. Could you maby add supertraps after cat?
Soundclips?

I just had a set of Fister Stage III Mufflers made for my 96. It's just a cat-back mod, but they sound great!! They don't have the ear popping resonance that my friends Super Cups have when you're just cruising. Darin Fister also makes a quieter version (stage II). he basically takes your mufflers and swaps them out for modified ones. He made me a real nice set of satin black powder coated tips too.
here's his site... some good vids. http://www.fdmotorsports.net/

Wow. this is funny. I just came across this post and was interested. Duh... I started it.
![]() Here is a very short video of the first start up after the install. By far the most complemented addition I have made to the car. Fabspeed Supercup's sound great! "loud pipes save lives" ![]()

Not for the faint hearted thats for sure
![]() But they're great for the track and come with the extension pipes to get back to the muffs for street use.

I can't express how good these sound. It really creates a whole new monster that turns heads. It may not be your cup of tea, but the sound is pure pleasure.

I have DACH X-pipes (without cats, I don't have to have a sniff-test here in my county) and DACH-R (modified, 'gutted' ala "RSR" mufflers). GLORIOUS sound, an old-school air cooled tech at the local Porsche dealer says my car is the best street 993 he's ever heard, although he hasn't heard Chris's without the mufflers.
Have OEM Motorsound tips, I like these the best for this car of any I've seen, everyone's opinion differs on visual appearance but DACH rooooolz............ ;-) ![]()

See if you can get a video sound bite. I'd love to hear it.

This is extremely close.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDzXoHYtOg0 Same DACH pipes, RSR mufflers and DACH-R are very close. When I get a sound clip of my own I'll post it

If you decide to change out the Super Cups for whatever...
reason, I would consider the FDMotorsports mufflers, Stage I, II and III. I have the Stage III and love them...I have had in the past:
1. B&B, hated them for their resonance, 2. Robin Sun's RSRs, very nice, 3. Porsche OEM motor sound package muffs, too mellow, 4. Fab Speed Super Cups, will raise the dead, sound incredible 5. RSRs with Fab Speed cat bypass, these too will raise the dead (That can be a good thing)...they are not too loud until you put your foot into it, 6. FD Motorsports Stage III with Stock Cats, my favorites, made from stock Porsche muffs, and modified., |
