993 dark finish wheels

Hi There,

I just bought a new pair of shoes for the 993 ( Bridgestone RE-050 ) and I was thinking of painting my wheels to solid black or gun metal. Anyone has ever seen these wheels with darker finish ( Sport classic II ) .

Also when painting to black, how glossy is the finish.

Thank you

I don't have a pic, but have seen them with dark centers and polished lips - looks great. Use a semi-gloss paint.

What kind of wheels are those? The gun-metal look would be great on that car.

993 wheels

These are the Sport classic II 18'' optional on late 993 and first version of 996 if I'm correct. Original from Porsche made by BBS.

Original or black, when I look my car, I love it.

Targajack,

Had black centered Kinesis on a 993 and were nasty to keep looking clean. Agree that gunmetal greay would be sharp on you car!!

It's not a 993 but here is my SC with Cup wheels in graphite color. I used the Dupli-color wheel paint in a can.

Thanks

This set is the Sport Design, not the the Classic II you have but it's an idea of what Gloss black would look like.

j

Here is what chrome with Gun metal between the spokes looks like on an other similar:

Remember you are not limited to Gloss, you can always opt for Matte/ Semi Gloss, Flat or Ultra flat designs no matter what color you choose to go with.

Good Luck,

Just for the record. Here is what it would look like: Graphite; Semi gloss.

Please share your fitment on this vehicle, what sort of spacing are you working with? Also do you have any angle photos so I can see how aggressive this is?

Why? You want contrast!

On a dark colored car, I'd want bright wheels like the ones you have that stand out and get noticed.

Just like on a lighter colored car, I'd want darker wheels that stand out and get noticed.

On my Speed Yellow car, I have an extra set of wheels that will get painted a lighter shade of gun metal; nothing too dark, but a wheel that contrasts nicely against Speed Yellow.
