Hi all,
I'm in the process of doing the ol' 4-corner brakes/bearings refresh. I completely broke-down my calipers and had them professionally cleaned and powdercoated. (did not split calipers though) My 911 is actually an 88...but the previous owner put what I believe to be 964 'Brembo' calipers up front. The problem I'm having is finding the correct caliper rebuild kit for them. I talked to Pelican today to order some, and he sent me a link to what he believed I have. The thing is, the pictured parts in the link he sent have different looking pistons than what I have. Was there a change or update that anyone knows of? My pistons are completely smooth with no groove for dust-boot attachment. Mine did have dust boots, but they simply sealed against the sides of the pistons. (see pic) ![]() I've looked on here at other people's 964 calipers, and mine appear the same. It has the raised porsche letters on the front (with 4 horizontal raised lines above/below)...and raised Brembo lettering on the back. It doesnt use pins to hold the pads in, rather the figure-8 looking spring clip...etc, etc. Any help or information is greatly appreciated. Thanks! -Scott |

Thank you very much Bill...
I did see your pictures on another thread when I was searching, so it helps to have your explanation as well. This also explains why the pelican rebuild kit comes with pistons, as well as the seal and boot. Thanks again... I sure appreciate it. -Scott |
