I use them on the track. They are extremely lightweight. I would estimate 1.5 lbs each. The exhaust note is really nice and pretty unique. They are pretty loud, though. Depending on your particular noise restrictions, they might be too loud. I have been informally voted "the loudest car" at DEs with these things...

Unless I'm there Hey Mike...
Chris, they are real nice, but real loud. Not quite megaphone loud. Don't fathom using them on a street or dual purpose car.

The butt dyno says you will see a slight increase in power, but I wouldn't bet my life on it. I've had a Dansk 2-in, 2-out and a Triad on my car and the race cans seem to allow a little more power. If nothing else, the engine seems to rev a little quicker. I've had my car dyno'd with the race cans on it and it made good hp, so I don't think they're hurting anything.

Like Brian says, they are not street friendly.

No problem Chris, I'm running a 2in1out MK in addition to my trackpipes. The nice 'real' muffler is on loan from a buddy...The quality is great on all of them. I would recommend you call Jerry at Euroeast for the best price if you purchase new. For that matter, my track pipes might be available if you're interested...

a little while ago ben made some inserts that can be added to his mufflers to quiet them down a little. i wonder if these would work with the race mufflers to make them streetable. i have a 2in/out with the inserts but no engine to bolt it to currently to hear the difference they make. just a thought.

I've still got my set sitting in a box... They're in great shape, the polished variety, just blued/tarnished from use (albeit limited). We've got a DE down here at Barber in June if you want to try them out...

My car is already loud with the stock heat exchangers, factory Euro premuffler, no final muffler, and is rarely driven on the street so I'm not worried they'll be too loud. Ben says, as you did, that they're quieter than open megaphones. If you want to sell them send me a PM. Do you also have a support bracket you use with them?

They are definitely loud.

Thanks to ipapilot I now have a set of these "mufflers". Damn they're loud but very lightweight and tiny. I honestly can't tell if they are any quieter than open megaphones but I don't run at any restricted tracks so I'm not worried about it. I'm going to Mid Ohio this weekend so I will report back on perceived hp changes.

Got a closeup of your support bracket for the SSIs & mufflers? I've got to make one for my future setup and would be interested to see if i'm thinking along the same lines as what others have done.

Here ya go. My mechanic made it. Very simple, and uses the muffler bolts to hold it in place so no hose clamps going around them.
