Have fun!!!

Seeing as it's a 930, shouldn't you throw on a turbo? You know, just to be true to the original.

Besides, is 700+HP really enough?

Great project, and beautiful car! I look forward to seeing the progress.

I see you also have a max wedge. Add a picture of that motor too (No spears - I know it's not a Pcar). I used to have Mopars. Seeing the current price of old muscle cars makes me sick that I sold my 70 Cuda 440-6 SS car for $2500 but I was a poor college student at the time.

sold the maxwedge clone to a friend of mine in Ohio. it was a really nice car and in drag racing form was a 10.2s and 128 plus performer.

still waiting on the livorsi gauges...maybe today. the motor is hopefully completed next week..still awaiting custom oil pan. got the optima red top located in the smugglers box. yes, that is a nylon strap holding the battery down...non-conductive and easy to unsnap! the battery box can be lifted out after unsnapping and removing two cotter pins through the back of the smugglers box. still cosmetic work to do in this area!

Lovorsi gauges arrived ! the speedometer is a gps and includes the gps antenna which can does not require line of sight. also the tachometer display can be used to check engine conditions with a mode switch which is seperate. the 4 in 1 gauges is almost exact fit for the porsche tach but the other gauges are slightly smaller. now the trick will be to mount the gauges using the porsche friction method with the rubber gasket. this will require a modified gauge cluster faceplate! the gauges include a central wiring harness that fits onto the Mast motorsports drive by wire harness and most gauge inputs come directly from the ECU.

this gauge package is very informative. utilizing the mode and toggle up and down switches..not shown.. you can set warning limits for any function the engine measures.through the ECU...fuel, oil temp, fuel pressure, oil pressure, etc. also the digital display will provide time and date. the ECU harness feeds information to the contol gauge...tachometer...and the rest of the gauges are daisy chained to this gauge with one simple harness. the gauges are illuminated with red lighting. the gps shows total mileage and trip mileage. too bad it does not calculate speed vs. time performance. interesting system!

a picture of the gauge wiring harness. multicolored is power, ground, etc as well as ecu hookups and the daisy chain sends info to each gauge from the tachometer...the master gauge.

rough pic of gauge package. still have to install indicator lights for signals, hi beam, parking lights. i will wire into the porsche harness for this. computer troubleshoooting light will be red. need to smooth up rough edges, prime and paint black. hope to layout the complete wiring harness this weekend and to see how it will match up to the installation front to rear.

painted the new dash faceplate for a rough look! not pleased with the fit and finish of the plate as of yet. i most likely will finish it in vinyl. ordered new led indicator lights. i bought some locally but do not like the size. hopefully the new ones will be in by wednesday or thursday of this week. almost finished with the ducting between the front bumper and the radiator. i wanted a tight fit so that the air can only go through the radiator and not between the nose of the car and the rear side of the bumper. i am concerned about the Ruf air intake opening. i do no want to enlarge the grill opening...shame to cut on a genuine Ruf spoiler, but it fits so well that i will if i have to. i plan to run stainless steel mesh in the opening as well..

a couple of pics...one of the front compartment. wiring and aesthetics not complete but plent of room for a 993 0r 996 donut and lightweight spare plus a couple of small bags. i will use a 944 style aluminum jack which is small and lightweight. also there is a picture of the wiring harness . i will start planning the layout today. plenty of harness to the front of the car and the mast motorsports engine has lots of harness to be hooked up in the engine compartment.several features built into the harness that i will not use, i am going to hopefully be able to route the front portion of the harness through the tunnel. the harness does not show the ecu and the drive by wire pedal. the harness includes all the necessary relays and fuses to operate the engine, fuel pumps, electric fans, starter circuit, alternator, gauge cluster,etc.. the livorsi gauges have a short harness that connects to the main harness for the gauges and the gps speedomter. still have to decide where i want to go through the rear engine compartment bulkhead....will require a sizeable cutout!

still have not received the mast motorsports motor...on delay due to oil pan issues. not really happy about that but little i can do other than use a factory pan which i do not want to use. starting to splice in the Mast Motorsports wiring harness and the Livorsi gauge harnesses with the 930 factory harness. lots of wires in the mast harness will not be used. i will use led indicator lights in the dash panel for the turn signals, hi beam, park lights, etc. still have to cut a hole in the rear bulkhead for the intake filter, at which time i will pass the engine wiring into the engine compartment. how are you other LS conversion guys doing? snowed in?

still awaiting the completion of the engine...supposed to receive the oil pan today at Mast Motorsports..we will see! replaced the rear quarter windows this morning...lexan with naca ducts on each side.i already have lexan rear window and side windows in place on the car. the intake will be reversed on the motor as i plan to place the air cleaner in the back seat area...enclosed and fed air via the naca ducts and fkexible tubing. the wiring harness is through the tunnel and up into the front compartment. i am a bit hesitant to start soldering wires but do have the wiring planned out and might just go ahead.

Excellent! It only cost a few extra dollars to go first class!
Nice choice on the engine and accessories.
Do you have any update pictures?

toggle switches for the GPS speedometer and the tachometer. i will put black rubber covers over the swiches so they blend in more with the dash. indicator lights in place for turn signals, brights, and parking lights. also will have a malfunction indicator light for the ECU located down by the heat/vent controls. i removed the a/c, radio. park brakes, etc. many years ago.hoping to be down close to 2300 pounds weight. the LS7 engine should be 50 t0 75 pounds or more lighter than the turbo engine.

I have a 944 with a LS1, a 930 with a SBC and Im putting a LS7 into a 935 clone.
Im not afraid of conversions The renegade guys are great to work with. Maybe when Im 70 ( 25 years from now ) I might have all 3 cars running ! At least it feels that way at the pace Im making....

935 will be getting a LS7 ( I have a short 930 lsd for this already from Renegade).

930 getting the radiator installed by Renegade

944 conversion kit from Renegade also

i like the looks of the black car. i almost did the same for my first conversion. several years ago i bought a 935 bodied 76 911 with very few miles from a guy in Hollywood. the fiberglass was extremely thick and heavy. the tail was really heavy. it had more of a 934 front end and i could not appreciate the angular rear with the more rounded front end...so i sold the car. we should start a conversion thread for just SBC and Ls conversions...no subarus. no 928s. etc. to share ideas and experiences among Porsche guys who like v8 power. and, yes! RH has always been very helpful to me.
