Fuchs Finish Image Library: Post your pics

There are a ton of Fuchs finishes out there, from factory RSR to top of washing machine Wenol, and they are all over this board. I hope this can be one place where they can all be displayed side by side for to help make a decision on refinishing wheels.

With your post, please tell us if Harvey or Al (whoever) did them, what they did, any special technique, inspiration, historical reference, specific cars, etc.

Al Reed. The request was something like Harvey's perfect rough anodized RSR finish. These look good, IMHO. They are more silver than powdery white, but still veyr nice work.

17" x 11" x 9.5" . They are a 16" Fuchs center welded into a BBS barrel. The finish is media blasted. No coating is applied. Mike Lindsey made the wheels and applied the finish with a media blaster (probably a fairly rough sand - not sure of the weight).

Here are mine-bought on ebay: 7's & 8's X 16. Came to me fully polished/plated. Too much Bling, so I painted with Wurth Satin Black the insets. Had to redo the paint twice as it's been hard to stick the paint.

8 inch with polished rim and medium gloss black centers done locally in Houston for $100 per wheel. Finish has held up very well with about 40,000 miles on them. Car is actually guards red and not tomato orange.

I switched from polished rims to anodized a while back. The anodized finish only needs to be wiped down occasionally. Polished finish seemed to need endless cleaning & repolishing, and scratched very easily. There's no way I'd use polished wheels again.

anodized. Just keep the chemical cleaners away from them. Soap & water is all you need to clean them

Here's my Lindsey Racing 9.5x11x17, polished with painted insets. They're bigger than my dog Spot, but lighter.

Al Reed polished 8's and 9's x 16. Black insetrs. No historical reference, no clearcoat. Once every six months I polish them with Mothers. Lots of bling.

$2.00 Semiflat rattlecan Black over non-etching primer. Same thing on my decklid grille.

Held up pretty good for 2 years and all weather.

Matte Black paint with polished rim.

Not mine but I like the paint around the lug area. Looks better actually on the car.

play sand bead blast. Quick brush with scotch brite pad. coat of vaseline.
