Maybe not on the shifting, but that should help with the flat spot. Airboxes are available on ebay for not too much money, but installing it looks like a lot of fun Finding all the ancillary pieces will be interesting as well. A little research indicates that the whole back end of the bike has to be dismantled. Does the swing are have to come off? I guess I'll find out.

Blue is a good color for the S IMO. Here's a couple of shots of mine before it found a new home.

Were the city lids originally textured or smooth or did they come refinished already?

Well, I have plenty of BMW's but in October my sister gifted me this road warrior that I rode back from central Wisconsin. My third Honda in my life. 250 Elsinore, XL600r, and now this one. It was mostly a great ride...

Somewhere in Iowa. I had the entire place to myself.

I don't know, but I wouldn't want to have to lift that monstrosity. "Course it is cheaper to find a helpful person to help or just trike it.....https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/HXYAAOSwIZlnNhzT/s-l1600.webp

You aren't incorrect!

As a matter of fact, within 20 minutes of that picture I had the brilliant idea of moving it's 900 pounds to face a different direction. And sure enough it laid down like a baby...

So I was looking at it in that empty parking lot, laying on it's side thinking "Well... there ain't nobody here but me..." I had to contemplate it for several minutes first though. In the end it wasn't that hard to get back upright, but if I hadn't watched some YouTube videos on lifting big bikes, it could have been a problem.

Long haul on the road it loses half it's weight immediately. Sound system is useless..
