That looks marvellous , I agree the bolts would look better black ,may be worth getting them done when you get the seat strut done , I like the way your bike is going very much indeed.

My work in progress. Belly pan goes off to the painter this week and I should finally be ready to ride after winter maintenance next weekend.

Here is our '99 Helen and I split the cost and came away with a low priced S

We both ride R's,GS's and a few others..but we both went WOW on this one...fun factor and conversation starter more than our other rides. It has a CF hugger and clear lenses on it now. Came with Staintune exhaust

What color you have planned for the pan, TM? Looks like my old bike and I always kinda wondered what I'd do should I add a pan.

I recognize that bike. Rode around with you and a few others in the Dallas area last year after the bike show in Ft. Worth. I was on the yellow R12s with two other guys from Tulsa.

I'm still diggin' that flag paint job.

Bob, it's going to be all yellow. It may be a bit too yellow, but I have been working on a print to see how I can break the yellow without interfering with the design and flow of lines, and I can't figure it out.

TM - what about if the checkers continued down the line and just carried through the pan with grey either side? or yellow at the front and grey at the back, with the checkers running through on the same line still? savvy?

If it 'twer me I think I'd go all grey with the yellow checkers

I've drawn that out, but if you use the lines of the bike the checkers end up way at the back and it doesn't look good. Moving it to the front, doesn't look right as the lines to match with the bike. And all grey is too dark imo.

I just could not...

...RESIST!!!

1977 Yamaha TT500... fresh motor with 540cc... all parts original when re-built ('xept the piston!) Supertrap Exhaust, larger plastic tank (original aluminum tank included), new tires, chain, sprockets and brakes and goes like a banshee!!

Bought it from a friend who has a bike-shop... Love it!

R1200s -06

Here's a pic as it is today…

Not too fond of the gray tank panel and face, probably will paint them black.

May even paint the whole bike pearl white.

The possibilities are limitless, when the weather doesn't allow riding.

Ralf,

I used to have one of them...........

Yours looks a lot better than mine did.

I also had an XT-500, actually the TT came as parts when I bought the XT, but since everything was there I could not resist putting it together and making it run. I rode the XT a lot out here, I think I rode the TT around the block every few weeks just to make some noise, but it never saw duty.

Those things have a cult following from what I remember, I believe they sold them in Europe longer than in the US.

Hope you enjoy kick starting, that was the primary reason I upgraded to the DR-650 in 04. Then after experiencing modern suspension I never looked back, and sold both bikes.

That is a good looking bike, are you going to ride it, or are you starting a museum?

I have thought that if my black duco gets too scruffed up over the years that I might buy the carbon fibre panels and the rest would be painted in white, I think that carbon with white would give it that stormtrooper kinda look

Going to ride it... t's just right for me... I don't mind kickstarting them, never had to look at the little window! ...and riding wise, I don't really ave to worry if I have to throw it away here and there...

I rode my buddies last weekend and took a major dive in a puddle of mud.. bike was submerged and so was I... one kick and the darn thing was ready for duty again... no electronics to worry about... put some air in these shocks and ready to go I am...!
