Headers

Has anyone used these headers? (see link below). If so? Any feedback on them?

Thanks, Randy

Hello Randy, I have a set on my 3.2 S 2002. They have been fine up to now. The fit was good, the SS tube seams good quality and they come with the gaskets as well. The only thing I would say on the negative side is, were one of the tube is joined in the middle, it is not very neat. Having said that they are are real bargin. Your price is the cheapest I have seen them. I think they are made in China.

I installed them on my Boxster. They did not fit very well. However I got them installed. The finish will start to breaks down.On the plus side the headers sounds great and not to loud. And a little extra power on the upper RPM range.

Difficulty levels differ on installing these headers. If your vehicle has low miles and you exhaust is clean then you can expect every thing to just bolt off. However if the system is rusted be prepared to use some source of heat to remove rusted bolts. Or if your lucky the bolts will snap and then just use new ones. Have some new nuts and bolts available. I used MAP gas to heat and remove some stubborn bolts.. If you are not use to working with a flame then let some one who is familiar with it do it.. You don't want to burn up your vehicle. As far as removing the manifold bolts off the head that will be easy. The difficulty I had with installing my headers was that the mounting bolt holes were not drilled on the header properly and did not line up. I just re drilled some of the ones that was off by one drill size and the headers bolted up with no problem. If you find that you have that problem re drill the header bolt holes but don't try to force the bolt through the bolt hole if there is resistance you will cross thread the the bolt hole in the head. Don't worry you can do this job. Take your time. Are you handy with tools? Do you have good quality tools like Snap On. Are you use to working on you back or are you lucky to have a lift and use safety goggles..

Cool Install of headers

I have ramps at my workshop so the job was much easier for me. The biggest problem I thought I would have with a UK car was rusted in header bolts. To my surprise they all came out quite easy. You will need some good heat on them to release them if they are rusted in a bit. You need a torch with a small flame, by that I mean, not a big spread out type of flame, some plumbers torches are good for this job. My header bolt holes lined up ok, with the exception of one which I eased a little, you don't want your bolts going in on an angle in an Alli head. The thing is to get them all started well before you tighten up. As someone else has said if you are working on your back the job is more difficult, (I have done lots of this in the past) but still if you are on a good floor, which you need to be, it can be enjoyable and satisfying. Make sure you get the car high enough in the air on stands at the back end. Also have everything at hand before you start.

I used MAP gas. You can get it at Home Depot. It is hot enough to do the job and heat the nut red. Be careful!
