Have no real right to post here, but in the early 70's I road a Hodaka Super Rat up & down the PA pole lines. My college roomate at the time grew into a district sales manager, chasing motorcycle & snowmobile dealers. He still rides with some off his old cycle buds. He now lives in FL but met up with some of them in Syracuse (old time home). They trailered to ND, met up with others to ultimately ride the Dalton Hwy in Alaska. It rained all day & the ride was brutal. Otherwise going up & back home was relatively trouble free, broken chains, clogged air boxes, etc. He's my hero. Our 75 year old birthdays are 2 months apart.

Looking forward to the additional pics, boost! Sounds awesome! Can't wait for cooler/less humid weather here!

Baz, quite nice. That does look like it is in really good condition, likely limited exposure to the sun.

Thank you, 908!

In some of the paperwork that came with it plus the owner's manual it looks like it may have spent time in South Dakota and Virginia. The seller was located in Maryland and the fellow he bought it from also in Maryland. Was told it was always garage kept and the previous 2 owners were OCD about maintenance.

Can't figure out why, except for the tank, the decals were all removed. A bit concerning so I will take a closer look tomorrow.

She came with a LOT of spare parts plus all the factory stuff that was swapped out. Plus 2 seat cowls, FSM, tool kit, 3 keys, title, and extra soft luggage.

But the best part? I can jump on it and ride! She needs nothing!

I actually like the look without the decals. I purchased a new ZX1100 in 1995 the large Ninja decal on the lower fairing was removed a couple days later.

I get it. The trouble with me is I'm too much of a dang purist!

Hell, it's bad enough that this bike has so many damn mods already!

Some of the specs:

40,490 miles.
Vance & Hines exhaust.
Ventura mounting system and Ventura bag.
Two color-matched RKA soft saddlebags with liners.
HeliBars handlebar risers.
Steel-braided brake hoses front and rear.
Good Dunlop Sportmax tires and good brakes.
Knight Design lowered footpegs.
One used and one new in box OEM seat cowl (plus passenger pad).
Spare windshield.
Tank pad.
Clymer shop manual AND Honda service manual AND Honda Owner’s manual (and tool kit, too). Battery Tender pigtail.
Galindo handgrips.
3 sets of keys.
Clean title.
Original Honda sales brochure.
Two boxes of extra electronic stuff, hoses, brake pads, bulbs, 4 oil filters and other miscellaneous parts and supplies too numerous to list individually.

Work completed in April, 2025 included: Adjust & lube chain, check coolant level & strength, oil level checked, tire pressures and fork seals OK, good sealed battery, clutch and brake fluids checked/flushed, test rode 40 miles and filled with fresh gas plus chemicals.

Came across this picture of what looks exactly like my RD350 from way back (minus the crash bars). First street bike I owned and it was perfect.

Don’t lament that Shaun. After many years riding with and without others, I find I enjoy riding alone much more…that’s all I do now. Ride your own pace, change course on a whim, stop or not as you wish and manage safety without another bike to account for. Since we moved I also don’t know any others who ride but that’s fine with me. Enjoy the solitude…it’s special time.

Agree. Ride alone, take it easy, save the gassing it for the track where there is an ambulance.

I belong to a VF500 only Facebook group and you wouldn't believe how many of them show up in posts from ALL OVER the world, Kurt. They were only made for 3 years ('84-'86) too!

Here's one from Warsaw........

I've been riding this oddball for little over a year now.
I'm not a cruiser guy, as I get older I do see the allure for less aggressive riding position.

I got up early this morning and hopped a ferry out to the Olympic Peninsula, where I rode up Hurricane Ridge. What a beautiful day for a ride.

No pictures to post today, but next Sunday, a friend of mine and I are heading down to Arkansas for a weeks worth of riding! I’ll be sure to bore you all with my pictures.😁

Let me know if you need any route tips. Have played and led rides here in AR for close to 40 years.

Roadrunner magazine every month publishes what they call “shamrock Tours“ where somebody has gone out and made three and four day loops around a base town. Back in September 2024. They did one centered around Jasper Arkansas. We plan on following those loops. But thanks for the offer!
