Bought a project bike. Goal is to recreate my first full size motorcycle.

Starting with this 1983 R100RT that the previous owner had cafe’d.

Here is the goal: my 1978 R100/7 dressed with 3/4 solo seat and S fairing. Sold it long again when I was still in school and needed the money.

First Ducati, '96 900 SS/SP brought it home a few months ago. Air cooled, dry clutch. Learning to wrench....clutch slave cylinder quit.

Ah yes....very nice...seems to be a favorite around here. Here’s Luccia (named by the PO):

thanks for the positive feedback on the 900 (like the CR too). Its a good noisy machine - similar to the 911 - engine sounds great. Have to listen to it for 4-5 min as it warms up before I head out... Having fun exploring more twist on the throttle... pacing myself

OGIO makes a good universal soft saddle bag. Used em on my Duc Hyper for a few trips. Easy on and off, integrated waterproof covers and not too $$$$.

Yup, as Gogar said "a PPOT cliche", the 900 Super Sport is that ubiquitous among us. Seems to be a real connection between loud, rattly air cooled 911's and similar Ducatis. Or at least their owners...

Here is my '93, once again (some of you are probably tired of seeing it). Cylinder head work by Mark Sutton, JE high comp pistons, ST2 cams, 41mm Keihin flat slides, Termi Spaghetti exhaust, all carbon fiber Superlite style bodywork. And yes, an Oberon slave cylinder... 360 pounds wet...

Thanks, but not finding saddlebags on their site or Amazon.

Had the XT250 in my trailer today and as I was going through the bank's drive through, some dude pulled through on the next lane and yelled out "Hey....is that the Rambo bike?" I nodded my head yes and gave him a thumb's up.

This was my dad's last bike. He used to take me for a ride around the block every day when he got home from work.

These are the ones I bought. Bigger than they look in the pics. Less than $200.

I was hoping to but work intervened. A co-worker had a friend attend who really enjoyed it - he did that "wall of death" thing, riding an old Honda CL.

Picked up a 1982 Honda FT500 Ascot for $550.oo
500cc thumper, made only 2 years.

Always liked these bikes, probably because I grew up by Ascot Raceway in So Cal and
used to go there to watch races and Speedway.

Sitting 10 years, gas tank clean, has compression. title on non-op,
has side covers (not in pic). Bike is in decent shape, needs a seat cover and some other
minor items. Just bought a battery (AGM) for $38 on eBay. Fingers crossed it is a runner.
Took it to a buddies who is a motorcycle mechanic for 40+ years. Going to swap some electrical work labor for his bike labor. That way the wife won't see it till it is running. Lol
Haven't told her yet.

Screenshot from my cellphone.
