Damn, qualifying is at 8PM Central. Do you think the wife would be pissed if I canceled dinner plans?

We know Won person who should be pretty stoked now.
Six in a row, drivers and manufacturers. Talk about domination. I wonder if they can exhale now? Congrats.

![]() I really like this shot. Must be only possible under the crossover bridge at Suzuka to blow out the background. Happy for the team and what has been achieved! To the well-known Mercedes detractor among the Sky commentary team saying how lucky the team has been this year, I say: "The harder we work, the more luck we have". Apart from natural disasters, everything that happens in motorsport is based on some decision someone made at some point. Or is that in life? Still much to learn for me ![]()

Congratulations Won and to all the rest of the team, think I may have mentioned this to you before but in case I haven't remember 'F1 is hard to get into but harder to get out of'
![]() Really pleased for you but jealous too as you have the only missing jigsaw piece I need to have the full set of F1 race team and driver achievements ![]() Think this season might be my 20th and I'll have worked on 35 F1 cars if I include concept, customer and a land speed F1 cars, Hard to tell as F1 years are like dog years ![]()

Interesting race, some great passes.
I wonder if Hamilton could have won if he had not pitted a second time. Sky showed a stat showing his tire life was at 70-80% remaining. Did Mercedes force him to pit to put him on the same strategy as Bottas and give Bottas the win?

Hamilton said afterwards that he wouldn't have done well on those tires without the stop. I tend to wonder if he wouldn't have finished second, at the very least, had he not stopped.
Be interesting to hear what he says to the team in private this week... |

Hamilton couldn't get past Vettel because the Ferrari engine is so strong on the straights even though he had more grip and DRS. If the situation were reversed and Hamilton had old tires, Vettel would have blown right by him with DRS.

We all know he wants to win every race. He has helped win another manufacturers championship. So now it is down to just his teammate and he has a 64 point lead right now over Bottas. He will have to DNF several times for the race to the title to be a real contest. Mercedes finishes almost every single time in the points.

Probably the same group in F1 that agreed to the Edgewater/Palisades venue in NJ.

I'm curious why do you guys think F1 is pushing so hard for this Miami race ? Is the demand in the US so great that it warrants another venue ? Is it the proximity to Central and South America ? Is F1 thinking the US can support 2 - 3 races a year ? I'm not knocking the effort just curious why

1) The owners are US based. 2) Similar to the NFL in London, it is an unsaturated market for their product.

i think is to build up future demand for F-1 in the USA then a response to the current level of interest liberty is much more interested in the future growing F-1 then burnie who wanted ever more cash for himself or long term vs short term this race is 100% about liberty's future growth of F-1 markets with very little local push to make it happen or local funding it would not happen at all without liberty pushing it |

With Miami's international appeal it is a no brainer. Austin maybe a great venue but it ain't Miami.

As I said before if the Race of champions was any indicator I think this is a mistake.
I was so excited to see ROC coming over to America, I have seen it in Europe before sell out crowds cheering and screaming in soccer stadiums. They may have sold 20% of the seats in the Marlins stadium all weekend. I purchased tickets early making sure I got in before it sold out. LOL!! I hope this works, Miami has a lot going on, and does not need an F1 race, unless they are going to stage it during the off season (Sept / Oct ) then it might be worth it. Then you have to convince folks to fly in. Our mass transit sucks. Our roads are already too crowded. This is going to be interesting.

![]() Have a huge amount of respect as he built up the team from nothing, last of an almost extinct breed ![]() He's still got a twinkle in his eye, pretty sharp considering everything, really hope I'm like that at his age Williams is still the 2nd most successful F1 team in history so it's sad to see the mess they're in now
