Looks fantastic. What sort of paint do you use Guy? And what's your spray setup? |

This bird is aerothane, it's made by polyfiber, it's extremely flexible as the paint is designed for use on fabric aircraft.

Its also excellent for use on aluminum, as it's less apt to pop off of rivets. The gun is an iwata supernova, a long run of pex to a double climb water trap of 3/4" copper, then an arrow filter system with a large desiccant drying canister... & 1/2 hose.. I need a closed full face breathing system next, for now I have the appropriate 3m respirator...

Really cool, and very original! Which color was the base color? I'm guessing green?

The base is epoxy over alodine.. The designer cut a custom mask. Each color is individually applied to the base, with the appropriate back masking. This is what it looks like in process.

That last Pic is of the horizontal stabilizer, it's actually fabric so the paint goes directly on the surface of the covering, a German product called oratex...

I got this locomotive the end of last year off the GW auction site. I've wanted one for a long time but, well, life had other priorities you could say. It didn't run when I first tried it when it arrived. I ended up shelving it for a while since I got sick and knew I couldn't handle taking it apart. So, today I got into it. I'd already figured out the sound system worked in the tender so that gave me hope. Once I got it apart I was able to determine that the motor worked so that was good news. I finally came to the conclusion that someone had taken it apart and hadn't been able to get it back together correctly and gave up on it. I still need to take it apart again and put all the parts back on it and some new ones I still have to buy. It should make a nice addition to our collection when it's all done.

Thanks - trying to figure out what gauge it is. At first thought HO but after reading your post and looking at the chair legs it must be at least one size larger. Good luck getting her running again. We had trains growing up and I still have some of the HO stuff in a box. None of the O gauge though. When my oldest brother moved out of the house back in the 60's, my next oldest brother got his room and I stayed put and put a plywood sheet atop my bunk bed where I laid out all my HO set. Photos of it somewhere. The O gauge stuff was also cool. I still remember stuff like this......

I picked up this fc-150 today at an auction. I wanted one for 20 years today the stars aligned and it happend. Last night I saw it on a sketchy marketplace ad. I dont think they were real auction people just estate cleanup people. So ten minutes after I saw the ad my brother rolls in with the trailer in tow. He drug it home with the cj5. His boss wanted me to fix the winch. What luck. Lots of tin work ahead but the frame and drivetrain look all there and serviceable. First time Iv bid at a live auction aswell.
