Just finished all 8. Another great season with some big unexpected twists. Can’t wait to see how the new show about him develops.

Worth the wait!

His daughter is so cool. Capable, smart, brave, etc.

She plays a great character. Any TV dad would be proud.

Same here... the new show will feature Bosch, "Money" Chandler and his daughter. I wonder if any of the other characters from the current series will make it to the new one as Bosch has retired ?

Jerry, Crate and Barrel, and many other really good characters helped make the show so great. Will miss them if they just disappear from the new show.

Imagine,"Crate and Barrel" will be retired by then.

Harry Bosch P.I. Should be interesting story lines!!

Baz 06-29-2021 04:01 PM

I finally got around to watching the first 3 episodes early this morning.

Man, those episodes just kinda fly by and it's hard not to keep watching!

I'm trying to stretch it out a bit so I can savour as much as possible.

Not easy with such a great show.

Also.....Coltrane! In 2 different cameo appearances, so far....yah!!!

The character "Jerry" is good but a few British murder detective shows have swapped out sidekicks with no problems. Adds a new dimension character wise w/o having to change the main dude.

The one that might not have survived a sidekick change is George Gently. The no. 2 guy gives ol' Geo so much grief that it's a vital part of the show.

"Jerrys" come and go. He was better as the drug dealer in another series.

JackDidley 06-29-2021 06:20 PM

Watching the first episode of the new season now. So far, so good.

No kidding. I burned through 3 episodes on my first viewing, then the remaining 5 the next time. Pro tip- watch it all again.

Zeke 06-30-2021 06:17 AM

Finished it last night after spreading it out like Baz says. So not to be a spoiler I'll just say hooray Harry.

JackDidley 06-30-2021 06:25 AM

Watched 2 last night. Probably do 2/night tll the end.

GH85Carrera 06-30-2021 07:22 AM

We finished it this week.

I wish more TV shows were even 1/2 that believable and authentic. Shows like NCIS are just insane over the top unbelievable and predictable. Bosch just feels realistic. The interaction of adult men like Crate and Barrel are simply right.

I certainly will be watching a new show with him working with Money Chandler.

you nailed this statement.

even the interactions with the females officers seem legit.

Agree. The Brit murder detective shows are so much better that most U.S. shows it is pathetic. Apparently will have to sign up for "BritBox" free trial as that is the only place the new season of "Line of Duty" is and IMHO it is not only one of the best shows around but is constantly changing out major characters with each season.

In the last few days, I have binge-watched Bloodlands, Jack Irish and Manhunt. All of them are on Acorn TV.

I enjoyed Jack Irish the most. The actor on Bloodlands looks like an Irish version of Harry Bosch.

ACORN and BritBox definitely seem to have all the good Brit. shows. Will have to check those out.

javadog 06-30-2021 05:21 PM

Make sure you have a good stock of beer in the house before you start watching the shows on Acorn TV, you’re going to get awfully thirsty.

DavidI 06-30-2021 05:23 PM

As a Southern California cop for more than 32 years, "Bosch" is the most realistic series I have watched. I can pick out the characters from the series and say that was based on "so and so" from my career. The storylines infused with politics are 100% true and I've witnessed many several times. They have excellent technical advisors who are spot on!

Very impressed!

speeder 06-30-2021 10:56 PM

It's a love letter to L.A.

Steve Carlton 07-01-2021 10:10 AM

I can't wait for the spinoff with Bosch as a P.I. arrives. Good article:

Zeke 07-01-2021 10:16 AM

When they had the car radio news on in Bosch, it was the actual local roaming news reporter. Now that is accurate.

Deschodt 07-01-2021 09:19 PM

Gotta say while I really really enjoyed the first 5 seasons - I thought the last 2 and especially this last one were weak. Not sure if it’s different writers but meh.. not as good to me... last time I was in LA I looked up his house too :-)

Funny, I thought the first was weak and got better each season.

Not as glamorous from this angle. Nice area nevertheless...

dan88911 07-04-2021 05:04 PM

Finished watching the final season last night.
I agree this season was little weaker than the other seasons.
However I will miss the series over all I enjoyed every episode.

Joe Bob 07-22-2021 09:13 PM

Michael Connelly who wrote about Harry Bosch in a number of connected novels also wrote about the Lincoln Lawyer, Mickey Haller. Who turns out is Harry's half brother and is a criminal defense lawyer.

Connelly puts them working together in a new book, "The Law of Innocence". Released this year, I'm about halfway thru. Good read, don't know if is out in paperback but it's on the new release fiction shelf at the library.

Background, Bosch is retired, working as a PI. His brother has been arrested for murder....Bosch is doing his magic and screwing with the LAPD.

Steve Carlton 07-22-2021 09:21 PM

I watched the final season twice. I'd already seen the first 6 seasons twice. Just for fun, I watched the pilot again. Tonight I finish season 2 for the third time. It really is that good.

jhynesrockmtn 07-23-2021 06:05 AM

A few episodes in to season 3. I'm really enjoying this. My wife is as well. Love letter to LA is correct. Now I need to check out the books.

javadog 07-23-2021 10:04 AM

The books are even better. Read them in order...

daepp 07-23-2021 02:33 PM

Just finished the final season - I thought it ended rather well.

And I loved the Fogerty/My Morning Jacket collaboration...

Absolutely, You'll be binge reading them before you know it .....

javadog 07-23-2021 03:34 PM

I have read them all twice, some of them three times.

Baz 12-13-2021 03:28 PM

Watched the last 3 episodes last night. Satisfying to see that ass hat Captain get busted for trying to get the gay LT in trouble. She handled things perfectly too.

Crate and barrel......what a pair!

Also Jerry is a good guy - would love to see him return in the spinoff. Had Bosch's back when he took Mattie into court.

Coltrane the heeler as well!

Unlike some here I guess I thought each season was just as good as the other. At some point I will re-watch them all!

I use NGK's in my Prelude..they work better than Bosch's.

Steve Carlton 12-13-2021 05:35 PM

If you get pulled over, you'll wish you had Bosch.

Baz 02-07-2022 09:07 PM

Started re-watching last month and finished the third season today.

Going to take a little break before going back.

Such an amazing series on all levels.

Have not started watching any Jack Reacher yet - that can wait. I only have so much "TV-Time".

I don't really see how anything streamed could be as good as Bosch.

Steve Carlton 02-07-2022 09:21 PM

Bosch > Reacher
