CZ builds some nice stuff! I have a CZ527 in 223 that is a delite to shoot and is accurate as it can be! In the rimfire class, I would like to have a CZ453, the one with the single set trigger. That is most likely the only 22 rifle out there with a better trigger than my 1950s Anschutz sporter! Hope you get lots of enjoyment from your new rifle!

I have found that my rimfire pistols are at the top of their form after a good chamber cleaning and a couple of patches down the barrel. My "clean" test is to put a 22 rd in the chamber and then turn the barrel up. If it is clean, the round will drop out from it's own weight. The only 22 I own that doesn't require this type of cleaning is my Remington Nylon 66 that I have owned for almost 60 years! It will eat any 22LR I put into it! All the other semi autos will eventually develop sticky chambers that affect extraction of the empty case.

Fire a .22LR and you'll see a lot of smoke. Clean a centerfire and rimfire after the same number of rounds and you will see a lot more dirt coming out of the rimfire barrel. IMO rimfire requires more cleaning (but done properly).

Metal rods can scratch the bore or damage the rifling. Two piece rods are more likely to rub against the bore at the wider part. This is an issue for long guns but for pistols it shouldn't be a problem due to the shorter barrel. Proper cleaning requires wetting the barrel first and then a wet brush and preferably one that rotates freely so it will follow the rifling. I've heard that nylon coated rods are bad because the nylon holds specks of dirt and becomes abrasive. Carbon fiber rod$ are the best but you will pay for them. If you are really OCD, you will only run patches in one direction so that you don't drag a dirty patch back through the barrel.

Some Porsche owners have specialized detailing tools for each part of the car and high dollar car wash and cleaners. Others have a bucket, some cheapo car wash, and sponge.

When I clean a rifle barrel, I lie the gun on it's side, gently( gently) feed the rubber coated cleaning rod down the barrel from the crown end. I screw the brass brush on then pull it through the barrel. Same again a could of times allowing the brush to follow the rifling.
This way any crud comes out the end of the barrel not around the inside of the bolt area/trigger assembly - no bore guide needed. The rod is perfectly straight because it's being pulled not pushed. Three times and the barrel is clean. If it's not clean you have other issues and may need a solvent type cleaner.

The worst thing to do is feed it in from the breech end and merrily scrub away changing direction half way along the barrel.

I keep the chambers pretty clean on my rimfire autoloaders simply because it will eventually affect function if I don't. My revolvers, bolt actions, and lever guns (along with the full barrel on my autoloaders), will only get cleaned if I'm switching brands of ammo and thereby introducing a different bullet lube. Bore condition is important in any rifled arm shooting lubricated lead bullets. Cleaning them alters that, and it can often take quite a bit of shooting to re-establish it and regain accuracy.

Favorite things...........

Here are a few of my long guns, mostly 22s. The one on the right is a Colt Lightning rifle in 22 short/long. The 4th one down from the top is a custom Winchester 1885 done up to shoot 22 WMR. The rifle just below the 1885 is an exceptionally nice Win Model 52 pre A with the speed lock conversion. Etc, etc.................

Nice! Only long gun I ever regret getting rid of is a Remington Nylon 66 in Mohawk Brown, just like yours . . .

Still have a Nylon 66...bought used for $20 back in the 60's. Also, my favorite...a single shot Remington "Targetmaster" my dad gave me for my 12th birthday. Blueing now worn, stock has dents, etc... No serial number, best guess is 1940's vintage...Dad bought it from a game cop we knew...seized from a poacher. I kept it iron sights...it still drives tacks.
