Adjusted for inflation that's about $355,000 today.

Anything less that a V12 3wheeler Mustang with a stick, hand throttle and rudder pedals can be crushed.

Supposedly the top 3 F14 ACM pilot along with Joe Hoser Satrapa and Dale Snort Snortgrass, and some others. and probably top 10 ACM pilots of his era world wide.

So pretty much a legend.

Book : "Roger Ball" Really good read.

Why? You're on a car forum. A Ford Mustang is one of the best cars ever made. For me the winner is, GT350. The flat plane crank sound, the look, manual transmission, the whole great driving experience for that price? Cant beat that.

I am calling BS to that one, LA FC would be well aware of planes with callsign ASPEN coming out of Beale AFB.. Aspen typically being either U2 or SR71's and FL600 is nothing unusual in that airspace

Incorrect. There absolutely IS ATC control at FL600. It’s called Class A airspace, and all aircraft are required to have a clearance and operate under Instrument Flight Rules. So if an aircraft is above that airspace, and the pilot wants to descend into it from above, then he must obtain a clearance prior to doing so.

My missstatement, you are correct, class A ends at FL600. They would call in to descend to FL600. My inaccurate reference applies FL600+

I was not a 53E pilot but, since I was at the Sikorsky Factory for three years while the E was in production (K Model now) I have just over 100 hours in the 53E as a co-pilot - or, perhaps more appropriately, a Sand Bag.

As I have written before, it is like flying your house from your bathroom.

I did low level routes with the USMC Major at the factory across the desert delivering brand new 53E's to Tustin: 15 ft agl, 170kts. All legal.

BTW, Dash 2 gets above lead quickly. Helo’s, unlike jets, take station on lead from above
