The trains in the upper West are amazing...someday.

I have some business travel next year with my daughter and want to train from SC to Arizona then fly back. I've never done it.

This was Amtrak's train #1 from New Orleans to LA with stops in Houston, San Antonio, El Paso and Tucson among other places. It connects with the Crescent that comes down from the north east to New Orleans. Could catch it in Washington DC.

I sent the photo to my brother to see if he knew what it was. He sent me back this one that he took from an airliner at about 30,000 feet. It seems to be extended on its tether.

The aerostats provided us with radar / video coverage at the FOB in Afghanistan back in 2012,
ours had it's tether hit by one of the Drones one evening, the drone landed safely and aerostat
was unaffected

Hey Bugs - One of my favorite aviation experiences was flying in Valhalla with Bill Anders and doing aileron rolls over the San Juans! Thanks for posting! Question - where did you see the P 51?

Is that tethered balloon west of El Paso, just south of Deming, NM? There is a restricted area there with a tethered balloon up to 8,000 MSL.

Location: Placerville, CA.... You know, the only place on Highway 50 between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe the you find signal lights. Above the fog most of the time and I can see the stars of the Milky Way 8 out of 10 nights. Kinda cool.....

Hi there!

We pulled up at McClellan (KMCC) in Sacramento, CA for a load of fuel. My office is in the background..

Cheers,
Trevor Anders
(AKA: Bugs) or (T-Rev13)

Found this sad sight on a road trip coming back home from dropping off the 915 for overhaul and our search for Bigfoot in Willow Creek, CA

This is no way for a VariEZ to end its existence. She needs to lean into the wind hammer down with her hair on fire at 170 Kts.

I like looking up places like this, so I found Buddy's Auto Center. Lot going on there...what is the a/c in the upper left!
