There are some crazy people out there.

and a whole slew of bad lip jobs.

Many years ago, I worked in a topless bar (I was a bartender). There was a girl that worked every once in a while. She was a really beautiful girl and a sweetheart. To add to it all, she had a lovely British accent. She came in once after having her lips done. She didn't have them done anything like that, it was super mild, but it was still quite noticeable. I didn't say anything, but I noticed and was a little shocked, so I think there was a weird pause in the middle of our greeting as I focused and tried to register what I was seeing. It wasn't an improvement. She noticed that I noticed, and despite not saying anything, she started to cry. I told her, "no, it looks great," to try to make her feel better (it wasn't an improvement, but it wasn't bad).

The story goes that this guy got out of the ball turret, and checked his parachute. It was shredded from enemy fire. He was unhurt, but if he had to bail out his chute would have failed.

And apparently these guys were pretty sharp, as both received technical PhDs (though with a low academic rating). Per Wikipedia:

"Grichka Bogdanoff received a Ph.D. degree in mathematics from the University of Burgundy (Dijon) in 1999. In 2002, Igor Bogdanoff received a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the University of Burgundy. Both brothers received the lowest passing grade of "honorable"."

They were also both involved in an academic scandal where they were accused of creating nonsense research for an academic journal, so who knows where their heads were at.

He's a tattoo "artist" in Belgium, made the news because he tattooed stars on a girls face, and she then claimed she had fallen a sleep and didn't ask for that many stars.

the general concensus was, that she did want the stars but her parents didn't (she wasn't underage , but still living at home)
