Saturday, July 3, 1886, noted German engineer & inventor Karl Friedrich Benz (1844-1929) gave the first public demonstration of his new invention -- the Benz Patent-Motorwagen, which was the world’s first internal-combustion-engine-powered automobile, on the Ringstraße (Ring Road) in Mannheim, Germany.
In 1926, Benz & Co. merged with Daimler Motors Corp., which was founded by noted German engineer, industrial designer, & industrialist Gottlieb Wilhelm Daimler (1834-1900) to form the Daimler-Benz corporation -- famous ever since as the manufacturer of the Mercedes Benz.
The undated left-hand photograph depicts the moustachioed visage of Karl Benz. The undated right-hand photograph depicts the Benz Patent-Motorwagen.

July 2, 1863 - Former college professor Col. Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain leads the 20th Maine Infantry in a stubborn, hard-fought defense of Little Round Top at Gettysburg. Chamberlain received the Medal of Honor, was seriously wounded at Petersburg in
1864, and ended the Civil War as a general.

I swear I should have had the same ticket. Pulled an illegal U-turn in front of a cop to go to Micky-Dees as a kid. Saw said cop who I know saw me, lit up his lights to let me know he saw me. Tried to play it smooth going into the drive-thru. Was politely told to meet him in the parking lot after ordering. The smart ass I was, asked him if he wanted anything off the menu while I was there.

If you'd just bought a Big Mac combo meal or Happy Meal and handed it to him, it might have had different results.

Would have been a better story if you were pulling up to a Duncan Donuts.

WRONG, you have to think like a cop !!

turn into dunkin donuts at the drive through
the cop WILL follow

Don't delay and Order for the cop at once .
make sure the lady at the drive order window knows to talk to the cop and tell him his order is already paid for

Drive off and let the cop enjoy his donut.

it's like giving a snickers to a diva , guaranteed, never fails

Psychedelic patterns on rocks in the Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness area in San Juan County, New Mexico, United States.
The Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness is a desolate area of highly eroded badlands and also the largest area of badlands in the San Juan Basin which is easily accessible to the public. The badlands comprise the longest, most richly and most complete fossiliferous sequence of beds extending over the Cretaceous-Paleogene boundary in any single sedimentary basin in the world.

Blue Duck, sometimes referred to as Bluford Duck (1858–1895), was an outlaw of the American Old West, probably best known for a photograph taken of him in the mid-1880s, in which he posed with Belle Starr, a famous female outlaw.

Duck was born in the Cherokee Nation, with the name of Sha-con-gah. By the early 1870s he was riding with gangs across the Oklahoma Territory committing armed robberies and acts of cattle rustling. Blue Duck became romantically involved with Belle Starr during that time. When she married outlaw Sam Starr, she and her husband formed their own gang, which Blue Duck joined. He is believed to have ridden with the gang through most of the latter part of the 1870s, although his involvement with them was off and on.

On June 23, 1884, while riding drunk in the Flint District of the Cherokee Nation, and in the company of outlaw William Christie, the two men came upon a farmer named Samuel Wyrick. For no apparent reason, the two outlaws opened fire on the farmer, emptying their revolvers into him and killing him. They then reloaded and fired on a young Cherokee boy who had witnessed the murder, missing him but shooting his horse from beneath him. Both Blue Duck and Christie were captured by Deputy US Marshal Frank Cochran, and taken before Judge Isaac Parker, known as the "Hanging Judge", in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Both were convicted, although Christie was later cleared of the charge and released. Blue Duck was sentenced to hang, but later his sentence was reduced to life in prison. He was sent to Menard Penitentiary in Chester, Illinois, as Inmate #2486. Blue Duck was assisted in an unsuccessful appeal by Belle Starr. In 1895, when he was diagnosed with tuberculosis and given only a short time to live, he was granted a pardon and released. He died shortly thereafter in Catoosa, Oklahoma, where he is buried

200-year old wooden bridge in Dagestan, Russia, built without using a single nail : The bridge is located near the village of Gulli (another pronunciation is Juli) of the Tabasaran region of Dagestan (Russia). It is known that the bridge was built by local residents - Tabasaran people, who had only wood and stone at their disposal.
The bridge is 10 m high and can nicely withstand a passenger car.

1991, "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" was released.
Talk of a potential sequel to "The Terminator" (1984) arose soon after its release, but several outstanding issues precluded such a production. There were technical limitations regarding computer-generated imagery, an aspect of the film essential to the creation of the T-1000 Terminator. The production of James Cameron's 1989 film "The Abyss" provided the proof of concept needed to satisfactorily resolve the technical concerns.
Perhaps more serious were the intellectual property disputes between Hemdale Film Corporation, which owned 50% of the rights to the franchise and stymied efforts to produce a sequel, and Carolco Pictures. Given that Hemdale was then experiencing financial problems, Schwarzenegger urged Mario Kassar, head of Carolco, to bid for the rights: "I reminded Mario that this is something that we've been looking for four years, and that it should be him that should go all-out, no matter what it takes to make this deal." Carolco eventually paid Hemdale $5 million for the franchise in 1990, resolving the legal gridlock.
"Terminator 2" made extensive use of computer-generated imagery (CGI) to vivify the main two Terminators. The use of such technology was the most ambitious since the 1982 and 1984 science fiction films "Tron" and "The Last Starfighter,", respectively, and would be integral to the critical success of the film. CGI was required particularly for the T-1000, a "mimetic poly-alloy" (liquid metal) structure, since the shapeshifting character can transform into almost anything it touches. Most of the key Terminator effects were provided by Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), and Pacific Data Images (PDI) for computer graphics and Stan Winston for practical effects. Creation of the visual effects cost $5 million and took 35 people, including animators, computer scientists, technicians and artists, ten months to produce, for a total of 25 man-years. Despite the large amount of time spent, the CGI sequences only total five minutes of running time. (Wikipedia)
