A car show in a city in the fifties! I can bet they are all steel body originals, and not reproduction 32 Fords made from fiberglass.

Inman Railroad Yard, Atlanta Georgia.

Control room at Telstar Earth Station, Andover, Maine, circa 1962. Its huge rotating horn antenna, beneath a 160’ high inflated dome, teamed with its counterpart in France, providing the first experimental satellite telephone and television service between North America and Europe. The station was also used with the Relay 1 comms satellite. The giant antenna was dismantled in the mid 1980s

The mouth of the typical politician.
Actually it is what the inside of the mouth of a leatherback sea turtle looks like.

Here is a 1940s real photo postcard of the "Top-Of-The-World, N.M, Elv. 7,263 ft." "Great Divide Trading" Post, "Cabins, & Cafe," and the "Great Divide Navajo Indian Trading Post" gas station on the Continental Divide in New Mexico on old Route 66. The Route 66 travelers loved these trading posts.
The Great Continental Divide extends from Alaska through the Western United States down south through Mexico. From this divide, the water (streams) run either east or west to the Atlantic Ocean or the Pacific Ocean. This was on Route 66 just about 115 miles west of Albuquerque and 30 miles east of Gallup, New Mexico.
This postcard is courtesy of Jim Coad and 66postcards.

Fortunately, the Mustang didn’t come out until 1964.

That should be illegal! Kiwi fruit on pizza should be a $1,000 fine from the pizza police! Yuck.

Who needs a pickup?

The global success of the Shelby Cobra inspired many American race car builders to build a similar car to compete on an international level. From this perspective, nobody came close to beating the Cobra, since there was only Carol Shelby.
However, Bill Thomas, a famous Chevrolet tuner and racecar builder, was a serious candidate. Unfortunately, due to various circumstances, the Cheetah never got a proper chance. As you may know, Chevrolet and GM pulled out of racing in 1963. But several independent race shops worked for GM’s backdoor programs where they supported private racing teams with racing know-how or special racing parts. Thomas’s shop was one of those outfits.

Cheetahs are cool. I have to think that driving one would feel a little weird initially since it looks like you're almost sitting on the rear axle. I know that when I went from a 911 to a miata, it felt weird. The 911 and Boxster never felt weird to me. Sitting in the miata driver's seat, I could open the door and reach my arm out and touch the back tire (took some leaning and stretching).
