I guess there was enough of a curve, and I didn't slow down enough. The truck did a lovely super slow-motion pirouette eventually sliding off of the road (no curb) into the grass. I pulled back onto the road and finished going where I needed to go. When I got there, my tire had 8-12" long bahia grass wedged in the bead of the tire. It must have been quite the sight driving down the road.

Something like this, but bright green grass that was very long

When I was 17, I thought my dream home was a very large garage for lots of cars and shop space with a small "efficiency" in one corner.

The world before AutoCAD and digital tools in architectural design was completely different: plans drawn by hand with millimeter precision, hours spent fixing errors on paper, and physical layouts that required detailed craftsmanship.
Every line, every perspective, was crafted with patience and manual skill, which made the architectural process a technical and creative art.

Brings back memories of my first job in a large drafting room. Parallel bar, electric eraser, lead pointer, oh those were the days

And don't forget about templates and erasing shields. I had an impressive collection of templates, with my name engraved on each one so I'd be sure to get them back if loaned out.

CAD changed everything...
I also remember making balls out of used pieces of drafting tape...

I used to do that at high school. I loved drafting and technical drawing. And we had an excellent engineering class.

The girls used to call me T-Square. It annoyed them that I was so square and focussed on my lessons other than being focussed on them.

Flat arches with 'hanging' masonry supporting the arena floor of the Colosseum: precise Roman construction using no mortar. Laid upon a frame that was then removed, the central keystone has held the bricks in place since the 1st century AD.
