This is why we use Fahrenheit in the USA!

Between 1945 and June 1947, it is estimated that 61,600 World War II aircraft were processed. Of these, 34,700 were sold in flyable condition, while 26,900, primarily combat warplanes, were sold for scrapping.

This is $20,823.67 in 2024 dollars for a car with likely no AC, certainly no ABS, traction control, tire pressure monitors, backup cameras, or even seat belts. I bet the radio was an extra cost.

These CPD1852D, Byte-Wide Input/Output Port chips were made by RCA before Intersil bought the COSMAC line. They were designed for use with the 1800 series microprocessors.
RCA was acquired in the 1985 by GE to form the GE Solid State Division. In 1988, GE sold its Solid-State division to Harris Semiconductor. In 1980, GE Solid State acquired Intersil.
Intersil was acquired by Renesas Electronics in 2017 and is now a wholly owned subsidiary, with Intersil's products and history including the RCA (CDP)1802 microprocessor and connections to RCA (Radio Corporation of America) and GE Solid State.
RCA's Assets: GE retained NBC and government services, while selling off or liquidating most of RCA's other assets.
RCA Records: GE sold its 50% interest in RCA Records to Bertelsmann and the company was renamed BMG Music for Bertelsmann Music Group.
Consumer Electronics: GE sold the rights to make RCA and GE brand consumer electronics products to Thomson Consumer Electronics (now Technicolor SA).
RCA was founded in 1919 as a subsidiary of General Electric, but became an independent company in 1932.
What comes around goes around.

The day after the Hindenburg disaster in Lakehurst, New Jersey.

In preparation for the Rhine crossing, a treadway bridge was built by the 17th Armored Engineer Battalion, detached from the 2nd Armored Division. On the night of 23 March, 1945 Company E and C constructed two preliminary treadway rafts over the Rhine, south of Wesel and opposite Spellen (now part of the town of Voerde). In the morning, a bridge that could bear mechanized transport started at 9:45 am, and by 4:00 pm the first truck crossed the floating bridge. Over 1152 feet of M2 treadway and 93 pneumatic floats were used in the project, which required just six hours and fifteen minutes to complete, setting a record for the size of the bridge. After the Rhine had been bridged, the 75th Infantry Division crossed on 24 March and the 35th Infantry Division crossed 25–26 March 1945.

Pablo Picasso, considered by many to have been the greatest artist of all time, made famous the genre of ‘Found Art’.

This, ‘The Head of a Bull’, 1942, exemplifies just one aspect of his genius. Picasso was on the forefront of artistic expression for almost 90 years.

At one point, near his end, he was not allowed to sign checks because his signature on the check made the check more valuable than whatever it was it was buying,

Speaking of random pics.

Here is ‘Portrait of the Artist’s Mother’ by Picasso age 16, in 1896:
