Wait! That’s a Buick. He had an Oldsmobile, same color scheme.

Porsche guy here, bought my first one at 16 with my own saved up money, I think it was $1950 the top of picture shows it after purchase the middle shows how it looked after I did a ton of work on it, sadly a drunk driver totaled it on me. Bottom picture is a 944 which was my third Porsche.

Well... my dad let me drive his '69 VW for a while, but bought with my own money, it would've been the Toyota Corolla AE111.

It was mostly bodywork i didnt rebuild the engine till a few years after high school its a great jeep I still have it and use it al the time mostly for hauling out firewood these days

Before i got the jeep on the road i mostly drove my moms 87 regal. I used it to get my permit but the engine was cooked so as soon as i got home we swapped in a fresh 350 and new 350 trans. It was fast but I respected it and never wrecked it. mostly because i knew id never hear the end of it lol We eventually got rid of it because gas cost so much and 2 wheel drive on our hill wasnt cutting it

1964 Ford Thunderbird. Brakes were shot, had some body damage, but it started and ran and cost a whopping $500.00 (1976). Got a nice enamel repaint and looked really sharp. Sold it in 1980 when gas hit $1.00 a gallon, and it was too expensive for me to drive back and forth to college. Looked just like this one but with red interior:

Ugh...1985 Mitsubishi Galant. First year the Galant was sold in the US, and they filled it with bells and whistles to grab the discerning American buyer...it had wipers that changed speed as you went faster, it had reclining rear seats, and you could set a temp and it would turn the A/C or heat on to maintain that! In 1985! So Cadillac...

Stock photo, not mine, mine was white.

The worst car I ever owned. Engine blew up after 6 months (I believe the oil pump stopped pumping, while on the freeway in rural Illinois at 60mph), replaced the engine at great expense, then had someone turn in front of me 6 months later, THAT destroyed the car.

Started out driving one of these.....

Insurance totaled it after a minor fender bender in '78. Bought one of these with the proceeds that had to be pulled home on a trailer because it was partially dis-assembled. After four months, it was back together and I was loving life.

Bought for $1,200..........Sold for $12,500. It's not Hugh's DB, but still an enjoyable/profitable purchase.

My old bike:

My first car was a '65 bug, bought it for $50 when I was 15.
It had a fresh rebuilt engine but it would barely run and took me a while to figure out the cam gear was a tooth off.

First vehicle was a '69 Suzuki Savage enduro in red like this. It was HEAVY.

First car 6 months later was a super clean '68 Firebird in this red with a red vinyl interior, a 4.1L OHC straight six, 3 speed manual on the steering column. Didn't have the hood tach and had hubcaps. 99,000 miles and ran like a top for $1,100.

The first car I had was a hand me down from my sister. A 1984 AUDI Quattro. This was in 1993-95.
Then I moved to NYC for university. Got married and soon after we bought our first car together. A 1976 BMW 2002, we purchased it in the fall of 2001. The car broke a lot but it was fun and 2002 owners are great. We traded it in on a 1979 911sc targa. A huge upgrade

My first car was a bronze colored 1973 Ford Pinto with a 2.3 I4, and auto transmission. It was surprisingly quick, and sporty....until I wrapped it around an Eastbound freight train doing 45 mph.
