Your scraper is a jet setter! England to Aus to NY. That's quite a trip, hell, it's almost back where it started!
You want one of those Steve? I have a couple of original #80 Stanly scrapers like it. It just collect dust now. 320 grit paper works magic. Not too much different then using using a hand or card scraper. It just makes your hand less tired.

FWIW this painting was an inspiration for one of my tattoos... incorporating my zodiac sign, and the surf... ( l live 4 miles from the ocean)
Hokusai did some amazing stuff. I'm waiting for you to post pics of that one!

Another piece for the girlfriend... Water themed again

This one is rather special and poignant... I went to the beach to get some sand..

I got the sand from the beach where she cast her daughters ashes.. She lost her 6 year old baby girl almost two years ago..

I'll make the foam and spindrift tomorrow after this layer of epoxy cures... I like to create depth by layering..

Really fantastic project for a truly unfortunate (enormous understatement) event. It'll be a special piece for sure. Thanks for sharing.

Nice! I like how stuff won't roll off the back/sides. Grandchildren put anything that they can get their hands on where ever they feel like, so hot-wheels, legos, rocks, whatever, will end up sitting on that thing, and the stuff can only roll off in one direction.

My granddaughter would call that a 'ladder'...

LOL! As a grandfather of a 3 grandsons that are all about to be 8, 5 and 2, that's so fitting. Yes, the 1.5 year old is a climber. His cousins have bunk beds. The other day he went from not climbing, and when his aunt turned around, he was on the penultimate step of the ladder.

I can't find the pic, but this was hilarious to me.

Our kids have a fridge that's laid out like this one, freezer on the bottom and "french doors" for the fridge section.

There is a picture of one of the grandsons when he was 3, with the two fridge doors open, standing on the bottom of the "fridge" section.

That bookshelf is a candidate for some sort of connector to screw the top to the wall.

Yep - my son is aware. Right now the granddaughter is about 10 weeks old - so we've got a few days to get one of those safety chains hooked up to the wall for safety sake.

Wow, that's amazing!

I've seen a bunch of "river tables" or whatever they are called, and most of them are pretty snoozy, and none have looked like water. But yours are very impressive!

The GF and I had Valentines early to avoid the madness of trying to eat out on V day...

She had no idea I was making this for her..

And when I mentioned I got the sand from the beach where she spread her daughters ashes....The waterworks started..

Not a very good pic....

We also disagree how it should be oriented.. She thinks sitting on the beach looking at the water..

I think sitting on a boat looking at the beach......

Its her table so...

Anyone here in woodworking and finishing use Tibet Almond Stick? I just read about it in another forum. Not too active so info is scarce.

^ nice work Tim, beautiful.

I made a Viking battle ax today for my 17 year old Grandson. He's infatuated with knives, swords, etc. When we were in Toledo Spain I bought him an El Cid replica sword of very good quality. His mom wasn't so excited but Scott is a very responsible level headed kid so it's fine. I ordered this ax head on Amazon. Hand forged Damascus steel made in Pakistan. Super nice quality, those middle eastern guys have been expert metalurgists for eons. You may have seen the sledge hammer I posted before, I used the same Rosewood for this handle.

You can see the grain of the wood flows with the curve. You know, so it won't snap when you're beheading someone
