You will never get the MSM on board for any conversations because it's not a discussion that will drive ratings.

I think social media has a better chance.

Right now it just seems like the distractions of what I call "shock and awe" news pretty much drowns everything else out.

We could really use some celebrity personalities to get in front of the camera and do some preaching. That has happened in the past. But the MSM just sorta ignores it.

I don't know - just some thoughts off the top of my head.....

Teaching/nurturing/reinforcing the positive and communication with your kids is critical . If they get on the wrong path it's hard to reel them back .
Great post!

The people without a moral compass aren't the root of the problem. The root is leaders and public figures that point a compass in the wrong direction, for personal gain.

People are weak, they are tribal, they can't make sense of their own world and play the victim. They follow any compass needle that eases their pain by inflicting pain on others. Inflicting pain is strength. It's community. It creates a focus for them to make sense of why they are where they are. People are weak.

Leaders exploit that weakness, they exploit their pain.

That IS part of the problem and you dont see it.

Here’s another recent example where it doesn’t fit MSM narrative to widely report. If the victim wasn’t white, it’d be all over the news.

Two black teens set Caucasian man in wheel chair on fire.

Steve, at the risk of appearing to condone or discount thuggish behavior of ANY kind, those numbers are so small they’re statistically insignificant. There were 1,200,000 assaults in the US last year... 122 were against Asians so we have an Asian hate crime spree? 2 going to 6 is a 300% increase but it’s laughable to call that a trend in cities of millions of people.

Again, 1 crime against anyone is 1 too many. Especially sickening are the attacks on the elderly. But I just get “war on women” nonsense political agenda vibes here again. I’ve been wrong before and I’m sure some handful of ignoramus’ do have it out for Asians a tick more than they always did. But based on those numbers it an an infinitesimal handful.

That "dislike" or "distain" (not hate) was directed at the Chinese government not the people.

Meanwhile the Chinese government is allowing the exportation of Fentolyn to your country at an alarming level.

correct, i have not seen anyone, thus far, express any level of hatred toward an Asian m'urican or a Chinese citizen. makes zero sense. i have seen a hatred, expressed toward the CCP with the stunt they pulled, but like all things harbor freight, qc was lacking so ultimately it failed.

now, if using catchy names regarding the virus is a problem cuz it's not PC, well, ok, sure i can easily stop that, BUT then well, there are things that i don't care for too. are others willing to compromise?
if you have ever had such a conversation in person with a PC nimby, you would know, it is there where they stop the conversation and run for the hills cuz they realize its a two way street.

Harbor Freight is own by a white dude or an American and are based out of socal. They just happen to import A lot of Chinese made goods for that market segment. The expectation of champagne at beer pricing gets them undies bunched up.

Actually, "Oriental" meant "from the East" and originally was describing the MIDDLE East, or Central and SW Asia. It means the Tigris River Valley, Babylon, Iraq.

Well, I hope this isn't taken the wrong way, but...

Once upon a time, if somebody said they were gonna fix you up with a blind date and she was Oriental, you'd anticipate mystery and excitement!!

Later, if somebody said they were gonna fix you up with a blind date and she was Asian, it was bit of a let-down in terms of anticipation.

In Korea, they used to teach that "Oriental" was an appropriate term to describe Asian people. Mind you that was 20+ years ago so things may have changed.

In Canada, I was told never to use that term due to its racist undertones.

In the UK, it's still in use officially. They probably justify it based on its etymology. Should they get on with the times and change that? Or is that just cancel culture?

Bonus fun fact: you will still hear the term "mongol" used as a slang equivalent to calling someone a "retard" around here, especially in mainland Europe. I don't think I ever heard that in North America. You guessed it, it comes from the antiquated term "mongoloid" to describe Down's syndrome. But conveniently "mongoloid" is also another antiquated term to describe the whole of "The Orient". Apparently it's still fine enough for an F1 driver to use in the heat of the battle and be broadcast in the world feed. More reading here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mongolian_idiocy

It's one of those terms that I can choose to take offence to or not, but if it was from someone I know, I would point out why they might want to reconsider using it.
