Pilots say the UFO’s are doing things just not possible with our technology.

Well off course UFO's are real, they have been real back in the day before Abraham, or before Buddha, or in 400 BC.
It just means something was flying and they could not identify it.
That they are not understood is the entire point of the UFO term. IF they were understood, they wouldn't be UFO's to begin with.

It only becomes interesting if and when they can identify what it is, and that it's not off this world.. Till that time.. it could be just a sensor glitch of some sort or a pilot with hypoxia.

It is not and you don't get hypoxia at 10 feet AGL.

nobody mentioned altitude so far
and how do you know it's not a sensor glitch..
if you can't positively identify it, you don't know what it is.

Until somebody can positively confirm "what" it is , it could be anything from a sensor glitch, psychedelics in the navy grub, to chemical pollution in the air system, ghosts, aliens from outer space

Science yo.

ID first.

Three of us, all Naval Aviators and Crewmen, saw it, with Mark 1, Mod Zero eyeballs.

Knowing what it isn't is more important, btw.

Are you twelve?

You are afraid, which is understandable. I have come to grips with the inevitable a long time ago.

Nobody mentioned altitude so far, so How could I have known it was at 10K feet AGL where no hypoxia can happen.

So.. nobody mentioned altitude before my comment.
hence It wasn't off the books .

No i'm not twelve, but you do understand that
until there is a REAL explanation of exactly what you saw.

It's just an UFO and not an Alien.

UFO =/=

I once asked a friend who was a university astronomer about UFOs. He thought that it was a bit presumptuous to assume that anything unusual seen in the sky must be controlled by an ET intelligence. His said that assumption would indicate that we humans already know and understand every single physical phenomenon that occurs within the observable universe, and anything falling outside that realm could only be a device created on some other world. We are an infinitesimally-small speck in an unimaginably-large cosmos, and despite what we'd like to think, our current knowledge of that cosmos is similarly small.

And why is it that the vast majority of these sightings only seem to occur at night, with the object being illuminated for all to see. Why so few, if any, credible daytime sightings?

This is why I hate relaying my two UFO experiences...just the complete suspension of the possibility and reliance on what we think we know about physics, time and space from those who(m) have never had the experience.

It is tiresome. Listen, Gents, the second experience lasted almost 45 minutes, on and off. We, the three of us in our little SH-60B, had a lot of time to think about it. My guess is that the UFO was so impressed by my flying skills (10 ft agl at night, 20kts forward airspeed) that he disengaged with appropriate awe to the mother ship to debrief.

The Navy "probably" sees more because we go to the most uninhabited parts of the globe underway. All our routes are designed to get off trade routes, tanker routes, etc.

There are, of course, choke points.

Get ready, folks: You don't know what you don't know and nobody cares about your academic credentials.

Interesting discussion,

Humans as a species have shown over the centuries that we have an over inflated opinion of our own self importance as shown predominately by the indifference towards other religions and nationalities than our own

Whatever the truth is, be it an alien species or a military/technology arms race or some unknown yet to be discovered physical dimension/phenomenon there are going to be a bunch of frightened, worried people eating humble pie when it's shown to the world they are not as clever as they think they are

The report is coming out soon. Congress is involved now. They are security threat. So objects have no intakes no out takes. They are doing aerobatics and speeds that are impossible with our current technology. And they can go in the water.

I had a co worker who hated dinosaur bones because they were not Mentioned in the Bible so he said possibly the devil put them there to confuse humans.

The first rule of debriefs is that if you were not in the exercise, not in the fight, STFU. Nobody cares. Listen to the pilot, not some old NFO who hasn't been in the fleet since Nimitz.

"Next gen tech" is also BS. There is a great chart called the "aeronautic wheel of misfortune". Find it.

The F-35 has been in development before my kids were born for the love of god.

weird.. those in the fight have no idea, since well, Unidentified Flying Objects and not Identified anything and those out of the fight aren't allowed to hypothesize .

Sounds Complicamated.

Pretty much.

I look at what I thought of myself when I was 14.
I had arrived, I knew it all.
At age 15, I learned I didn't.
at age 16, I learned I did.
At age 17, I learned I didn't.
at age 18, I learned I did.
At age 19, I learned I didn't.
From that point out, I looked at that pattern...
It's been didn't the rest of the way because of that pattern recognition.
The only way to learn requires admittance of ignorance.

And it goes well beyond religion, there is some new religion of those that don't consider itself a religion.
Very sacntimonious.
Can't see the difference between objective testable science and engineering vs conjectured untested ideas that also call "science", and give it a religious treatment.

The only thing I can do about it is laugh.

Dude, I understand your fears. It must be a lot for you to process given your emotional age.

There is an understanding among aviators that critiquing...never mind: you have your position, I have mine. Mine are based on being there, 45 minutes of trying to figure out what we were witnessing, in real time, then how to survive it. We decide on low and slow.

Your opinions rely on the opinions of others.

Pity, that.

BTW, this was in 1987. My next tour was at the flight test center here in Patuxent River, Maryland. There was and is nothing on this Earth that could match the flight regime of what we witnessed that night. Nothing.

I then managed all UAS for the Navy for five years. Tell me what I don't know.

Why did you think my opinion relies on others?

All I've been saying all the time, is that there is Nothing until it's ID'ed, it's just a UFO, it could be anything.

What "other" am I relying on when I say that??

And why would I be afraid of something unidentified that A I didn't see, B didn't bother me personally??

You seem hell bent on telling everybody what it is, except , you aren't able to tell us what it is then. You've posted 3-4 posts in this thread.. And NONE of them have explained anything.

You saw "something"
Well ,I've seen a lot of stuff too back in the days when I ate a lot of Acid.. And unless you've eaten Acid, you don't know what I've seen either.

But I can tell you one thing : It wasn't Aliens.

Excellent. Stick with that...a lot of smart folks have issues with wrapping their mind around the possibility of UFO's. I get it.

In the mean time, go take some pilot lessons. You seem to love flight. Go do it if you haven't.
