At LANL:
185 let go did not have an approved religious exemption

Your math fu is rather weak today.

I know quite a few people at LANL. I do not know which ones are not vaccinated. I know that 25% of my personnel have refused...but there are still a few days left before they are fired and suspect they will involuntarily take the J&J at the last minute if no relief...just to keep their jobs (I estimate that about 50% were voluntary). All have at least a graduate degree.

What he is saying is 100% accurate for any new drug. Phase 3 trial rarely have 20,000 participants of which half get a placebo.

If an adverse effect shows up in 1/100,000 that effect probably won't be seen in any trial. And if one case shows up it still could be within the normal rate in the unvaccinated population. That is why there is a reporting protocol so those additional problems are identified. If our standard was that any and all possible adverse effects be identified before apporval we would never approve a new drug or procedure.

His complete statement is much more nuanced than what the Twitter states. He had just spent hours seeing data and discussioning possible consequences.

What’s the thought process with respect to kids that really have almost 0 chance of getting the the disease and getting seriously ill or dying?

Care to explain while they’re rushing this through, with such a short testing period? Covid cases in school children have plummeted since they went back to school, so it’s not exactly a pressing emergency. You’d probably have to look long and hard to find a sick kid anywhere.

It would not surprise me if we do far more harm than good to these kids.

Probably a combination of kids now dying from Covid, (rare but it's happening), and the scenario where the virus is not crushed because a significant segment of the population is unvaccinated. But what do I know?

Therein lies the problem. What we don't know. I was one of the first here to get vaccinated...but I am in a group that seem to have done well with it. We know nothing of the long or even medium term effects on children, pregnant women or men/women of childbearing age that may want to reproduce. Worse yet, I am not sure we are looking/want to know.

Another anecdote. My vaccinated daughter is pregnant and pretty far along. Her unborn baby has a heart issue/problem. Is it due to the vaccine (as we have seen heart problems with adults) or does it have nothing to do with the vaccine? No one has brought that up and as far as I know, there is no database or registry. If there is a rise in children that are born with heart defects, how long will it take to know that and decide that it is caused by the vaccine? Years? Decades? That is why things like this should be better tested before giving it to children that have a very, very low rate of death (lower than the flu). Fielding it and calling that a test is not the answer.

Because it’s going around his school. Contrary to Javadogs opinion kids are getting it in school here in NorCal.
