Really? Thanks!

Update:
In May 2021, I sold the Part 135 company that I had started with a business partner. He took his share and bailed. The guy who purchased the company made me an attractive offer to stay on as the Director of Maintenance and as a floater pilot.

The catch is that I had to move with the company. To Alaska.

So here I am in Alaska, lol.

I still have a gig with the company in Kuwait, also.

In December they paid for me to get NVG flying training and the FAA sign-off.

In February they paid for me to go to Bell's training facility for 429 transition training.

Next month I have to go to TN to conduct an acceptance inspection on a new 429 that they are buying.

Then in Sept I will be going to Bell again for 412 field maintenance training.

I expect this will all culminate with a trip back to Kuwait in October.

The Alaska operation has had a lot of delays in getting operational. I'm sure it will all happen at the same time I am trying to do the Kuwait stuff, making everybody unhappy.

Cash, can you give me a hint as to what you’re doing in both Alaska and Kuwait? Thanks

Yeah - nothing top secret, but there are some confidentiality issues. Both are helicopter EMS ops. HEMS

In Kuwait, our company manages the helicopter maintenance for the Kuwaiti's national HEMS operation. There is a lot more to it, but this is a public forum and that is all I feel comfortable sharing. (I have been admonished before for sharing too much)
This is their facebook: https://www.facebook.com/lifeflightkuwait

The Alaska company is a startup EMS/SAR company called Alaska Guardian Angels. As mentioned, I am the Director of Maintenance and a floater pilot.

During the 2020 COVID scare and lockdown, there was no travel back/forth to Kuwait. I had time on my hands, so I took a short-term gig flying a Huey in Palm Beach County, FL.

Forgot this achievement earlier..... earned my seaplane license in Oct 2021.
Please pardon my girth.

Cool stories. My son has talked about using his GI bill to learn to fly helicopters when he gets out of the Army.

What happened to Matt/onewhippedpuppy? He would know what is happening with the new Bronco's!

Cashflyer, you're living the dream! I wish I had gotten into flying long ago.

Nobody has mentioned Dottore yet. I always found his posts interesting.

Funny this thread came up again.

Anyone remember Craig - the avocado grower - who at one time had that viper green longhood? He has a Mastiff and would post in the dog thread. I'm afraid last time he was posting his Mastiff was having some health concerns.

Probably a good place to post this. Haven’t seen Vash posting anything in the last couple of months. Did I miss something?

That was CraigT. I went shooting a few times with him and fly fishing with him and Jim (lowyder993 who's also been missing). Craig was retiring and moving to South Carolina. Jim retired and moved near Reno.

Vash is probably taking a break from the madness. Unfortunately Dottore passed away years ago, I also enjoyed his posts and humor.

Scottmandue is another who has gone MIA. Another who's humor I miss is Burnin' Oil.
