Wow! You're LG Tv lasted that long? My only LG died just after it was out of the original factory warranty. I have a Vizio that's about 8 years old that still works fine and it has survived two college moves after I gave it to my daughter for her apartment.

I still have my first flat screen, a 40" sammy from early 2000. It developed a dark area on the screen that you can occasionally see, so it's now in a seldom used spare bedroom. We lost some Sammy devices early and I was a hater, but LG is worse.
The LG died shortly after an update, we thought it was suspicious being only two weeks off warranty and just days after the update.

After my LG lost a board I did some searching to find it was a pretty common fault. I bought the LG to put in the place of the smaller Vizio that we moved to our basement so the kids could watch DVD's. It wasn't long and the Vizio was back upstairs until we bought the Samsung. Knock on wood, the Samsung has been a good performer.

The Vizio I have, replaced a 55" Samsung. The Samsung was a week from the warranty expiring, when it completely went dead. Called, they sent a local repairman out. He laid the thing face down on the carpet..unscrewed an access panel and replaced the mother board.
The whole service call didn't even last 15 minutes and it was back to normal. The Vizio has a much better pic...but of course it is about 3 years newer. Almost any new tv today has amazing picture quality...imo

I saw a 75" in Costco couple of days ago, Samsung I believe. Cost was about $1,500. Picture looked very good.
My .02: do research before buying. Bigger is not always better in resolution, contrast, pic quality. I got a 65" LG a few years ago (2014) and it is the worst one of three TVs that we own. I did a crap job of research and was only looking at price point and size. I'd rather go slightly smaller with great pic than bigger with scheisse picture. Lesson learned.

Wow, for sure you guys have had some bad luck with LG tvs. I bought 4 of the newer OLED TVs, and the oldest one is around 3 years old. The newest one is about a year old, which is the biggest one that I gave to my parents for Christmas. So far they are all looking really amazing. Maybe the OLEDS are different, I don't know.
I'll check back in and report if any of mine go bad in the future. |

I’m going down Saturday and buying something. I’m so sick of watching YouTube videos about which tv is best for the money. I might just drop my new grandsons college fund money and get a $10,000 100” tv just to say I didn’t cheap out.

I bought a 75" Samsung today at Walmart for just under a thousand bucks. Hooked it up and I guess it's OK. They're all so clear now. The Viseo and LG were a couple hundred bucks cheaper but I heard Consumer reports likes the Samsung so I bit. We have a 55" curved screen Samsung in the bedroom that has a superior picture and no light reflection from sources behind you. It cost 2x more and I actually think it's worth it.

![]() Hung the new Samsung and realized 4" of the right side margin is black, crap. Didn't notice until I had cut the giant cardboard box up. Pulled it down, taped the jig saw puzzle of a box back together, loaded the giant thing back up and waited in a 45 minute return line at Walmart. Ugh. Bought a 75" TCL. Hung it on the wall and so far, so good. What an ordeal, thanks Samsung. I think the picture is actually a little better on the TCL. |

Just throwing this out there:
What kind of car do you have to bring this TV home? The box will be huge. Who do you have to help you set this up? The weight is not light. The TV will be a little unwieldy because of size.

The box will slide upright into a van or as I did with my Fit. (or a pick-up) Slide it into the house and lay it on the floor. Cut the box open and one person can easily grab it by the top and bottom and lift it out and onto a stand. I'd much rather lift and move a 75" new tv than a 25" old tube type.
