Here is hoping you walk it like most of us have and you are back to pimp slapping in no time .
Keep us posted Dennis . My wife and I had it twice , both times, we were pretty sick for 3-5 days with lingering effects for several weeks. This was before the vaccines weer available to us . I remember worrying if I was going to die for the first couple of days , not knowing what to expect . We recovered 100 % . My wife lost her taste and smell for over 6 months, but it strangely came back after her heart attack and stroke . Hang in there bud !

BTW, the best part is knowing that you now have immunity to the nastier variants.

![]() When someone tells you that they know someone who died of a heart attack or cancer, do you ask them whether they are a medical doctor and if they diagnosed them themself? This is just a strange response and makes you sound like one of those kooks who doesn't believe that people die of Covid. It happens every day, times several thousand in the USA right now. I know of two people who have died in the last 30 days from it, plus one guy in the hospital who very well may die because he is unvaccinated. No medical degree necessary to know all of this. Their doctors and the hospitals where they are being treated/died diagnosed them just fine. And you haven't had it, "2 or 3 times." Was it diagnosed by a medical doctor each time? Of course not. You had a runny nose or allergies and pronounced it Covid19, because you don't believe it exists and actually think that it's a flu variant, (it's not). If nothing else, your statement would imply that there is absolutely no such thing as natural immunity from previous infection. The truth is that it is limited, (many people have been infected twice), but it exists. I'm fortunate that I'm fully vaccinated and only caught the Omicron variant, which the vaccines don't stop. It is relatively mild but still had me up in the middle of the night with incredible muscle aches and pain. Also, well I generally appreciate any tips on recovery from this thing, htf is a mouthwash supposed to get rid of a virus that is in someone's blood? ![]() As much as I take exception with your post, I wish you nothing but good health and I mean it. There is no one here that I want to see sick. I worry about people who don't believe in Covid and laugh at precautions, the cemeteries of the U.S. are filled with tough guys who refused to believe that they had Covid19 even as they took their last breaths. True story.

Good luck Denis, just keep drinking plenty of fluids and take Tylenol or Ibuprofen for fever and pain.
Some good chicken soup or bone broth helps also. Omicron seems to leave as quickly as it comes although you might notice lingering fatigue and joint or lower back pain for a bit. I'm sure you'll be back up and around quickly, hang in there buddy!

A vaccination preps your body for the infection so you can fight it off. The T-cells and memory cells are there to remind your body how to fight it off. And they prepare you for similar infections. Antibodies wane after an infection and they do after vaccination. Yes, you can get sick after vaccination, but it is milder than it could have been. And I expect some people with "natural" immunity had colds from years ago that were "close enough" that the body was ready to respond. This is why yearly flu vaccines are important. Maybe this year's isn't perfect, but maybe one from the last 20-30 years was good enough to keep you from having a bad case of flu. Denis, hope you are feeling better soon. My "sniffles" are pretty much done. I still have laryngitis 10 days later. And like you, my first test (with sniffles) was negative!

My business partner had a large birthday party for his wife. DJ and 50 people (friends, family and her hospital associates), two thirds came down with Omicron. This was mid-December. This variant is very contagious.

I don't know that anything really helped me feel better or then get better. I threw everything at it all at once. I couldn't get scheduled for the infusion for four days after I tested positive, which was was two days after I had bad symptoms and probably three more after I thought I might have symptoms. I got the other therapeutics prescribed for me only a day before the infusion. Meanwhile, I took tons of vitamin C and D and zinc, tried to keep hydrated and all that. But I don't know what eventually killed it - time, treatment, or what. I'll get bloodwork done again in about five months and see where the t-cells and antibodies stand.

Get well soon Denis.
We (ex-wife and both kids, since have 50/50 custody) had it in January of 2021. It hit me the hardest but what I had were the weird symptoms like insomnia. Never had a fever, but did get the cough and kept my sense of taste and smell. So i guess what I had was pre Delta. I got the Pfizer shots starting in March so I could travel for work and it was way to soon, as they completely wrecked me. Turns out that it might be because of a kidney medicine I am on that caused the issues. Needless to say I have not gotten the booster. My sister is a PHD and works in big pharma and said I have already had my three exposures, for whatever it is worth. We have had a lot of close contacts the past few weeks (my son wrestles, me playing hockey) and are still doing fine. |

I'm on day 11, still have the post nasal stuff and cough. Improving a little each day. Got my energy back, but still no endurance.
I think part of the reason for my lingering symptoms is that I did a 1.5 hr endurance workout on an indoor bike trainer the day before the symptoms hit hard, not knowing I was getting sick.

Pedialyte is your friend to stay hydrated along with good old water. I drank a ton and it seemed to help.

For the throat, a warm mixture of lemon juice, honey and whiskey always works the best . And it is a good drink on its own (hot toddy).
