Wife is still positive after 10 days. Now my sun who lives with us is positive and sick with congestion and fever. I continue to dodge it somehow. My blood type is 0- and I’ve read different theories that people who are 0- may be immune or have limited immunity.
At any rate this gif represents me dodging Covid.

A friend of mine is blood type O- too. His wife and both kids have had the vid and so far he as been able to avoid getting it. No mask, no preventative measures at all and no vid for him. Only thing that worries me is he's overweight and has heart valve issues so I hope his blood type truly is offering some type of immunity.

So sorry to hear about your dad Marty.

We lost my father in law to COVID last summer. My wife was very close to her dad so it's a constant battle to keep her spirits up even this many months later.

Denis, I've noticed this as well. My allergies seem worse, and it is a month later. Just more sensitive.

People remain positive for a couple of weeks after symptoms are gone on the antigen test and you are positive for 6-8 weeks after first symptoms on a PCR test. This is why the CDC says stop testing once you are positive.

I think that problem is going to be increasingly common in vaccinated people. Your body’s first layer of defense is in your nasal cavity and it seems the vaccine trains the body to rely on that less.

Shouldn't be a huge problem since Omicron has been shown to develop more in the throat.

Well, Omicron is very well adapted to the upper respiratory tract and 10 times less so in the lower respiratory tract, so that’s no surprise. What we’re talking about though is problems in the upper respiratory tract, unrelated to Covid, because of changes in the body’s immune system in response to foreign invaders. I haven’t been able to do any useful searching for studies on this aspect of it, as all you get when you search is results for discussions of Covid vaccines in persons with allergies.

Allergies to the vaccines or allergies in general?

In general. I think I'm just more "sensitive" at this point.

I currently have a low grade fever, nasal congestion, and a splitting headache. I just tested negative on an antigen test. My son has the same symptoms, slightly worse, and he just tested positive. I can’t figure this stuff out.

It certainly sounds like you have it. Give it another day, if you don’t test positive maybe there is something to the “O negative” theory.

I tested negative on my first day. Test again tomorrow. If still negative talk to a doctor. It might be flu or a simple cold...

I got whatever covid was around last September - tested positive 4 times. On a scale of 1 to 10, it was about a 4 (compared to the sickest I ever got).

I had an auto-immune malfunction back around 1980 (no lingering issues today) but when the flu shot came out I was told not to get it as it could cause the issue to return.

I got the same guidance for the covid vaccine.

My issue is, I have antibodies still, and the mean duration for antibodies after you've had covid is like 22 months. Which is way better stats than the vaccine. So why doesn't any government or institution make allowances for those who have the (longer lasting) antibodies obtained from actually having caught the flippin virus?

Not arguing but where did you hear 22 months, (for antibodies/immunity)? I've heard that it's a LOT less.

Because it was more important for them to get as many people vaccinated as it was to do anything to limit the spread of the disease. If enough people had gotten vaccinated, they could institute vaccine passports and then they were well on their way to having a good way to control your life.

It didn’t take hold here, thank goodness, but there are a few countries in the world where they got a lot further down that road.
