My wife keeps going over and over who could have possibly exposed her to Covid. After three days of being in the house together and hearing her give countless stories of people that could have done it I finally snapped last night. It could have been anyone anywhere. Who cares? I’m still negative by the way and she seems to be past the worst of it.

I was also wondering where I got it but it could have been absolutely anywhere/anyone. Probably half the people in Los Angeles had it over the last month, if you include asymptomatic.

Mrs. Beard kept saying it was when I went out for dinner Saturday night on my business trip. It was too soon with my first symptoms on Sunday. I was in a large meeting on Friday, but it could also have been out to dinner on Wednesday.

OTOH, I might have picked it up in a store on any of those days. Who knows at this point!

I re-counted the business meeting last Friday. 10 people, 5 have had Omicron.

So I’ve taken a couple of days off work assuming I’d test positive and haven’t. Is there a quarantine period due to exposure to someone with Covid? I’d like to go back to work tomorrow but I’m not sure if that’s kosher. Any opinions would be helpful.

If someone you cohabitate with is positive and you haven't taken quarantine precautions AND you are showing no symptoms you can return after 5 days (according to CDC).

But I would still keep the COVID thing on the down low if I were you. Sometimes peoples reaction to finding out you've been exposed or around someone positive (even though you test negative) can be worse than the virus.

They told you a long time ago to lock your self in, and you won't get it. If you are concerned about what other people say, just tell them to lock down.

I've had it, I quarantined for 15 days.

Tomorrow will be five days. I’ll test then and hopefully be working on Thursday. Thanks.

Our company says 5 days after testing positive or having close contact you're cleared to come back if no longer having symptoms. That's down from 10 days after positive and 14 days after close contact just a couple months ago.

Also, once you test positive, no point in testing again since you could test positive for a couple months.

Really? Was not aware of the long term positive deal.

Yes. The Antigen test drops off at some point. But the PCR test can remain positive for 6-8 weeks. This is why the CDC has said to stop testing after you test positive. You are OK to interact 5 days after main symptoms (Fever, body-aches, etc.) stop.

Back in August 2020, they said that continued testing doesn't help. Some places were requiring 2 negative tests before return to work. That could take 6-8 weeks.

My coworker who tested positive is quarantining at home. The two sales agents in our neighborhood have said they are quarantining because they were exposed to her.

Another coworker and I work in the same small one room office with the Covid positive testee. Nobody told us to quarantine.🙄

I was feeling rough this afternoon and took a quick test. It came back negative. I thought for sure based on how I felt it was going to be positive

So what precautions were or were not taken?

And it could be that those 5 didn't contract C from your meeting.

No, no, no. They've had Omicron in the past 6 weeks.

I’m going through this. I feel like I’m coming down with something but I continue to test negative. I hate missing work but my exposure is so high I don’t feel comfortable being around other people. Tomorrow will be five days since my wife tested positive. I’m going to get a pcr test tomorrow afternoon.

When I had it I tested negative on a Saturday afternoon when I was feeling symptoms. Tested Sunday morning when I woke up a little more congested and tested positive.

I wouldn't trust 5 days over an antigen test...
My fever hit Tuesday, I tested positive via PCR Friday, Monday and Wednesday, positive via antigen on Friday, then 2 negatives on two antigen tests on Sunday. I'm pretty sure I was infectious for (...counting...um...) 10 days, maybe 11. Mildly symptomatic that whole time, with a new symptom (lost of sweet taste receptors) coming within the last 4 days.
