WV three tolls at $4.25 each booth.
Asked the lady at the booth what the heck did they do that for? She said we thought we were going to have to bring quarters to the bank in giant bags but it was the other way around. We had to gouge the banks of their quarters to give the 75 cents to the peeps from their fin they laid on the toll booth custodian. You know what a fin is. Cabby does not. Heh heh.

Thing about The Bell, there is not enough beef in their taco meat to call it hamburger.
My best friend worked for the DOJ running food service in a prison. Unloaded the wrong box and had to swap it out. He was signing for his 80/20 hamburger meat, and asked the guy what that other stuff was. TMP, what is that? Textured Meat Protein, mostly filler, less than 50% meat apparently I go to Jimboy's for take out tacos Jim Knudsen ![]() Glen Bell

It's a ploy to get the $5. toll they were after in the first place. With all the hullabaloo over the change thing they do everyone a favor by rounding it up. The bridge authority in the SF bay area pulled the same fast one. Now it's 7 bucks

Then there is the sawbuck and double sawbuck. Interesting how the sawbuck got it's nickname. Hint: think roman numerals.

That little snippet would have been perfect in the little known facts thread! I never knew that!

I've eaten at TB before (it's been a long time). I've never had anything that tasted horrible either because it's pretty hard to screw up Mexican/Tex-Mex style food. But it's not exactly winning any awards either. Like I said, I haven't been to one in years, but then there are a bunch of other places around here that you can get much better food.

I don't go to TB for their excellent food. They are known for good fast food at a great price. Would be hard to find another fast food place to eat a quick lunch for less money.

I've always found TB provides a "quick" lunch. Very quick through my digestive system.

"Textured or texturized vegetable protein (TVP), also known as textured soy protein (TSP), soy meat, or soya chunks is a defatted soy flour product, a by-product of extracting soybean oil. " (uh where is soy exactly located in the list or is just a minor ingredient happenstance in processing?) (It's more common than you think. My uncle was severely allergic to anything containing soy. He was scared of it.) What they claim: https://www.tacobell.com/nutrition/ingredients "Seasoned Beef- Beef, water, seasoning [cellulose, chili pepper, maltodextrin, salt, oats, soy lecithin, spices, tomato powder, sugar, onion powder, citric acid, natural flavors (including smoke flavor), torula yeast, cocoa, disodium inosinate & guanylate, dextrose, lactic acid, modified corn starch], salt, sodium phosphates. Contains: Soy" Minor ingredient: https://www.healthguidance.org/entry/17850/1/What-Is-Torula-Yeast.html " Torula in particular is a type of yeast that is fed wood alcohols. Once dried out, it creates a tan colored powder that tastes somewhat meaty. Specifically, torula was added to food in order to replace MSG" Taco Bell gets sued: https://www.foxnews.com/health/taco-bell-sued-over-meat-thats-just-35-percent-beef Lawsuit then quickly dropped: https://www.foxnews.com/us/taco-bell-still-has-beef-with-firm-that-dropped-lawsuit So did they sue themselves for publicity? Did it have any merit? Did they change the ingredients since then? What does the the FDA consider 'beef' and how many processing chemicals are involved? It does sound like they use pure meat but I'm always skeptical of anything.

If i could get doritos nacho taco shells from the store i wouldn't need to visit taco bell any longer.
But i can't and try as i might using regular doritos just isn't the same so i will continue to visit the bell every other month or so.

A long time ago I liked their encharito (with extra olives). They’re still decent for what they are.

I ate at a Taco Bell once. Never again. There are countless better options.

I still think Taco Bell is the best fast food and still, despite rising prices, a good deal. I love their crunchy tacos.
